Vince has a new toy

Vince, my husband, has a new toy. He has bought himself a drone so here is one of his first efforts. He is hoping to be able to do some shots for a real estate company and all such advertising now has aerial shots taken from a drone.
The photo seems to give an exaggerated view of our limestone steps but maybe that’s how they look from up above. The biggest shrub on the left is a NZ Christmas tree and the small dark patch to the left of it is two Indian hawthorn bushes which are surrounded by mesh to keep the kangaroos out.
One birdbath is virtually under the tree on the right and the flagpole is quite prominent. The black lines going every which way is the reticulation which supplies water to the various shrubs.

He will indeed. It took a while for him to work out how to make it fly then more time to work out how to make it take photos.

@JudyEv I would guess part of it is the angle of the photo.

@wolfgirl569 I think so too. The three lots of steps all seem spaced out.

Gee, that is my dream toy. I wonder if I can still buy the drone within this year.

@averygirl72 By Australian standards, we are not rich but we do have a nice house.

@JudyEv We have to ask for a license first here, then you cannot send your drone to "spy" the properties of other people around you. So the usage would be very limited and it could be a source of problem if by chance you send it fly over a private property (privacy violation - very serious matter here).

@Tampa_girl7 Because we have so much sun here, it is very efficient. We turn on the booster sometimes overnight when the power is cheapest.

We have bush on two sides of us and yes, we go walking there quite often. I'm hoping we might be able to get some photos of the kangaroos.

It looks like you have a real compound out there in the desert. If I had a drone, there is no doubt whatsoever it would get hung up in the trees. The only place to fly it would be down at the lake.

very cool. We have places in our country where they are against the law. Mainly because some have used them to invade other peoples privacy

I love your house Judy, it's beautiful! What is that brown on the left side of the photo? It looks like muddy water, but I'm sure it's not.

@JudyEv Yes, the lighter brown. That's gravel? It looks like muddy water, or even what we call here in the US "red dirt clay."

@moffittjc Clay/gravel are similar. Gravel is little bits.
