Sun Day (and it just happens to be Sunday - lol) World Laughter Day (We could use this.) 1978 - The first unsolicited bulk commercial email (later known as Spam) is sent by Digital Equipment Corporation. 2000 - The sport of geocaching begins. Participants use a GPS (Global Positioning System) to hide and seek containers called geocaches or caches at specific locations marked by coordinates all over the world. 1933 - James Brown (The Godfather of Soul) was born. He was an American singer, songwriter, dancer, musician, record producer and bandleader. His success peaked in the 1960s with the release of his Live at the Apollo album featuring hits such as Papa's Got a Brand New Bag, I Got You (I Feel Good) and It's a Man's World. Brown had 17 singles reach #1 on the Billboard Rhythm and Blues charts. He was inducted into the Rhythm & Blues Music Hall of Fame as an artist and then as a songwriter, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2006. 1934 - Frankie Valli was born. He is an American singer, actor and frontman for the Four Seasons which were founded in 1960. Valli had 29 Top 40 hits with the Four Seasons. Some of the hits: Sherry, Big Girls Don't Cry, Walk Like a Man and Rag Doll. As a solo artist, one of Valli's big hits was Grease (1978). Photo Credit: Pixabay
