1908 - Mother's Day is celebrated for the first time in the US in Grafton, West Virginia.
1975 - Sony introduces the Betamax videocassette recorder in Japan.
1946 - Donovan was born. He is a Scottish singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Three of his hits are Sunshine Superman, Mellow Yellow and Hurdy Gurdy Man. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014. He has been active from 1964 to the present time.
1960 - Bono was born. He is an Irish singer, songwriter, musician, humanitarian, venture capitalist, businessman, philanthropist and activist. He is best known for being the lead singer and primary lyricist for the rock band U2. As a member of U2, Bono has received 22 Grammy Awards, 1 Golden Globe and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has been active from 1976 to the present time.

Coincidentally my girls cleaned up their room as they wanted to gift me some peace of mind on the special day. And a clean room gives me a real peace of mind.

It's diabolical conspiracy that Mother's Day is the same day as the thing mothers say most to their kids: "Clean up your room!"
