Don't try this at home. Oh, I forgot many of you probably already have and are good at it.

What am I taking about? You may have guessed from my pic and that's putting on fake nails. Many of you go get it done something I never have done and maybe won't. Even my kids get that done from time to time.
My nails have been awful this winter so I thought maybe if I put some nails on it would protect the ends so they can grow. They tend to get caught on onion and orange mesh bags when I'm working.
Just when I think my nails are doing better they aren't.
Anyway I'm waiting for today. I glued a nail to one finger yesterday and again today I almost glued two fingers together. Then I switched hands and almost glued my fingers together. I'm running out of remover so should get more before giving it another go.
As you can see the image on the right shows the nail glued to the finger. The first set of images has there nails done in the left hand and just the pinky on the right.
Anyone else have problems doing their own nails?

@MarshaMusselman Her nails don’t look as good as mine!
She doesn’t do her nails, as she is a swim instructor and is in the water all the time. The chlorine destroys nails!

@moffittjc well at least your not dating her for her nails, lol. I'm sure how our nails look is more important to us as individuals than our spouses our significant others.

I do not put fake nails on. I used to put polish on my nails but have not done it in ages.

Oh my gosh, I didn't realize your are of the female persuasion, unless your joking about painting your nails like Jeff said here too.

@Hannihar I don't bother with polish much because it begins wearing off within a day or two. There more expensive ones last four days. Now if I weren't working either might last longer.

I bought some beautiful fake nails in Aruba last September. When I arrived, I discovered that they were for someone younger. So there they are. Maybe I should try to put them on now. Nobody will see me. But now I mostly wear my PJs day and night for comfort.

How do you know they are for someone younger or do you mean they were small? The ones sold here barely cover my day nails but I can usually make something work. I just bought plain ones because that's all we had on the shelf. No there are one hundred in the container with several sizes. They were under five dollars a better deal than normal. I'm putting my on polish on them.

When I retire I know mine will grow better as they have each time I've been off after surgery.

You didn't like wearing them or did you have a difficult time getting them in too? I don't mind wearing them although I cut them down before glueing them in. I don't needed them that long.

@MarshaMusselman I had both a hard time putting them on and using my fingers when they were finally on.

I never used them growing up I don't think they were popular until the late seventies it maybe late eighties. All I know is there never used to be salons that did nails in all the malls years ago.

@MarshaMusselman It's nothing wrong with using fake nails. Just be careful next time when you glue the nails again.

Are you male or female? Either way even many females can't relate it seems for one reason or another. It's common practice here but not for me either it is be better at it by now.

You could probably do a comedy video of this and put it on YouTube @MarshaMusselman
Those doing this for a living do have a talent (and training) for this, so that would explain us not getting the same results.
For me, I view those with the fake nails and think about the germs that could being hiding under the fake product. It is enough to stop me, especially now!
