Can you think of anyone this might apply to?

George Washington Carver was born into a slave family in Missouri in the early 1860s. He overcame the difficulties presented by his race and background and became a prominent agricultural scientist and environmentalist. He died in 1943. He once said (or wrote): 99 percent of failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses. I have known a number of people to whom this could apply, a regular excuse being to blame the failure on somebody else. At present I have one particular person in mind. I wonder if your mind is working in the same direction as mine in this respect?

I checked his details before writing this post, because his name meant nothing to me before. He was certainly a remarkable man, and I was also impressed by the fact that there were white people around at the time who were prepared to give him a chance to progress in life.

I don't know about the percentage, I feel like a lot comes from the process of learning. I can however, think of a president who is great at this.

There are a lot of people who are like that. They like making excuses and blame somebody for their own mistakes.
