This morning the AHL (American Hockey League) officially announced the cancellation of the rest of the 2019-20 season and has said they are still not sure at this point when or if the 2020-21 season will start.
The AHL is the top minor league for the NHL (National Hockey League) so I expect that the NHL will announce the cancellation of their season soon. This will be the first time since the league started a championship and rewarding the champ with the Calder Cup that it will not have a champion. For 84 years the AHL have been doing it and now this year they will not.
I figured it would eventually come but was hoping in a way that they would get back to playing. I understand the risks that would have come with getting back to the game but as a fan I miss watching hockey.
Well maybe next year.

No NCAA finals, no Stanley Cup, no NBA finals, if baseball has anything at all it will be a travesty. French Open cancelled. Maybe there can be masked bowling tournaments to watch! Lanes are six feet apart.
