Other Than the Grocery Store

Today I ventured out to get a pedicure, the first time I had been to anything other than the grocery store and pharmacy in two months. I know some people were afraid lifting part of the lockdown would result in the masses flooding the streets, but it hasn't been that way here. The salon asks you make appointments ahead of time, which I did, and that you wear a mask. They also asked you to wash your hands when you enter. Only three other people were there, and we were seated several chairs apart. The staff said business has been slow, but they were all thrilled to be working, and getting a paycheck and tips.
My dad wanted to throw some business the way of small businesses, so he took his wife out to a mom and pop restaurant the other night. He said eight people were there, and they were all seated three tables apart.
When was the last time you were some place besides the grocery store? Although, I know a lot of you have had your groceries delivered.

I haven't been anywhere and have my groceries delivered. I'm really afraid of going out and catching this virus.

The last time we ate out was on March 15th and got my nails done March 17th I think.
I'm not going anywhere for a long time. I'm too afraid of getting the virus and bringing it home to my husband. He feels the same way.
I'm just pleased that my hair looks good and that I can do my nails and toes at home.

Other than going to visit my mom on Mother's Day, I have only been to pick up my grocery order and drop off masks. I maintain social distance everywhere I go and always wear a mask when in public. Can't let my guard down, as I am too fearful of this terrible virus.

Although I suppose it's really in the same category, I've been to Target, Walmart (awful), and Costco. And my parents' house to drop off stuff (but we never go inside the house). Places are starting to open up - like the beaches and trails (maybe gardens too) - but I'm sure people are flocking there right now so those are the kinds of places we're avoiding.

I had to go to the Nissan dealer today and that was a little scary, the staff did not wear masks.

Oh wow! You have things re-opening? That's awesome. I am happy you were able to go out. Hey, I've never had a pedicure. I'm just weird about someone touching my feet. (Actually just read the first 3 words of that sentence. ha.) I'm happy to hear that it sounds like people are approaching the businesses in a safe and sane way. Here I think people are getting fairly impatient. I go by the stores that are open (it's stuff like Walmarts, grocery stores, lumber yards, farm and home, gas stations) and the parking lots are full up like normal.

If you think you can stand having them mess with your feet, I would recommend it. My sister has ticklish feet, but she got used to it (she used to kick people when they'd touch her feet).
My feet get so dry no matter what I do, and a pedicure makes them a little more presentable.

@AmbiePam I know a lot of people like it :-D Sorry to hear about dry feet. That sounds annoying. I know dollar store offers a Diabetic foot cream, I was meaning to try on myself, I wonder if that would help

Have the Beauty shops opened up there? Is it safe to get procedures done?

The salons here are still closed. Not sure yet when they can open up. My hair-do needs done so bad!

That's great you are getting out again. I'm sure it felt wonderful to have a pedicure. We're still locked down. I just checked the news and the good news is Wisconsin is starting to open. Not the salons yet, but hopefully soon. I need a haircut.
