Gladiolus Are Blooming!

I always forget to go look at the gladiolus because they are in the front of the house. Our driveway is in the back and we use our back door 99.9% of the time.
The other day I ventured around the house and discovered that two of the Glads were blooming and one had already bloomed out. Both of the ones blooming were orange and yellow like the one in the photo. I planted mixed colors so each one will be a surprise when it blooms.
I have also noticed that Gladiolus are popping up about 15 feet away from where these are planted which is a bit of a mystery since they reproduce via an underground bulb. They must produce a seed also. I'm not sure but that would explain why they are popping up so far away. I doubt that these new ones bloom this year but who knows?
What is your favorite color of Gladiolus blooms and do you have any?

I like to mix them. I havent planted any yet this year. We get too cold to leave them out over the winter.

@wolfgirl569 It will be a 50-50 on that, but okay, I have plenty sprouted up in the front.

Those are a beautiful color. You really should venture around to the front of your house more often, or you might miss the vibrant beauty of those flowers!

They're pretty flowers. I planted them, and true to my black thumb, they didn't come up. That was many years ago. I also planted irises, and they didn't come up either. I'm doomed when it comes to outdoor plants. I do better with indoor ones. I like all colors of flowers.

@kareng It has nothing to do with the climate. It's me. I have a black thumb. When I lived on Guam they had what they call lawn of the month. I had beautiful lawns all around me and they all won at least once, but my sad yard didn't win anything. I couldn't even get a coconut tree to grow. I planted all kinds of flowers. When that didn't work, I took seed pods off of other plants. Those didn't grow either.
