Corona virus in my country. The good and the bad.

We have 421 dead during the pandemic, which is not so big as compared to other countries. And we have had 41.428 infected of whom many are healthy again now. But the hospitals are full and that means that people with other ailments cannot be taken care of. And that also means that we have had lockdown in some parts of the country several times and now in the whole capital which means several million people not working There has been help from the government and from other sources. But nothing is enough. So there´s not a "good" answer for any thing. All I can say is that I´m lucky. I don´t "need" anything. I have money to pay my bills and to buy my groceries. I spend less than half now that Leticia is not here although I miss her. What will the new normality be? Will I be alive to see it?

We are lucky too, we are retired, we receive our pension, we have enough to pay our bills and to buy our food. I sincerely pity all those who are losing their jobs.

@marguicha We do the same with my husband, we take care of each other. We almost never go out, only once a week to quickly buy some grocery, but always wearing a mask and gloves.

@LadyDuck My daughters won´t let me go out. Yesterday was the first time I could buy for myself, but online. I did buy some luxuries though.

The amount of casualties have not been a big as in other countries. And all of my loved ones are safe for the moment. The rest is bad, of course.

We are incredibly lucky too as regards being retired and having enough money for our needs.

That is my case. And I don´t have so many needs at this time of life. Medical (some) and a holiday are my "luxuries".

We are lucky that we receive Social Security and our pensions. Other people are in dire straits. Yes, you will be alive to see the new normal.

I have a retirement pension and another for my late husband. It is not that much but it helps. I have some money that my mother left me and I loaned it to my daughters. They will pay me back little by little as I need it. I do worry for other people though.

Yes so true. Regardless of what the statistics tell us if we get or don't get a disease then we are personally effected. Some people do alright while others are hurt by these things.

@marguicha It is a matter of risk. The question is how dangerous is it. If protective measures are used or not. At the beginning I was careful but then noticed I was using the same door handle as everyone else without gloves on. I had to make an adjustment so now the risk is a lot less.

In my opinion, this is not good when the person carrying the virus is still roaming in a clean area.

What they want to or are trying to do here is to reduce ordinary pensions by how much we do not know but we have one very unpopular Primer Minister at the moment plus the Vice President. Gonna be a lot of protesting done here deaths are still on going and lockdown is still ongoing.

we are lucky to be still given health, also still able to provide daily needs. I hope all those in distress receive help from anyone and are able to survive in this pandemic

There's actually good and bad when pandemic strikes. The good thing is, I get to reflect thos who give negativity to me, I get to avoid them and it actually heals me. The bad thing is: lol I don't get to go to campus.
