My Daddy Did Not Leave myLot as His Legacy

My father was known for his wisdom, hard work, his love of gardening, the importance of a college education, providing a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, his love for family, and his sayings. I’m my father’s daughter. My favorite saying of his is that if you have but one true friend in your life, you’ve had plenty. I have been blessed with many real life friends. My myLot friends are dear to me, although many have come and gone. It makes me sad. The irises in the photo came from my daddy’s garden. He brought them over when we bought our house. My first walk of this glorious day is over. After the laundry is done, I intend to plant more flowers near these precious~to~me irises.

Beautiful irises. I wish I could grow them but I don't have mom's green thumb

It’s taken me years to get some to bloom. I’m going to have to do a lot of transplanting it appears,

I'm going to wait until fall to build a few areas where I want to plant some marigolds and morning glories @DianneN I think both will flourish in our mild winter.

Lovely irises. Most of my garden is from plants we've been given and those we brought from our previous lives. Means you can enjoy the garden and also the memories.

Those are beautiful flowers. My father was a wise man, he had many interesting sayings. I remember him saying "do not discuss with a stupid, after a while no one would notice who is the stupid and who is the wise".

Irises are so gentle. I like the colors, I don't have them in the yard because they need a lot of space. Daughters are always attached to fathers

They are. My sister in law gave me a few white irises, but I planted them elsewhere. Space is not a problem here. I loved my daddy, but was extremely close to my mother, too.
