I wish there was a magic wand...

That I can wave and make my three-story (plus basement) house sparkling clean. I'm exhausted just thinking about cleaning everything. My mom tells me do a little each day but when it comes to dust you gotta dust everything in one shot otherwise it will spread to places you've already dusted. And it never ends. Dry dusting and then washing all the floors is what I dread the most. Very tiring and when it is hot in the house it makes it even worse. I am so not in the mood. Even when I tell myself tomorrow I will clean, tomorrow comes and I do nothing. Hubby isn't exactly saying let's clean or that he will help me. If I don't do it we will be buried in dust. Though surprisingly he did some cleaning over a month ago but he did a half-ass job and only did select areas of the house. From time to time he will complain how dirty things are but he won't help me clean. And that's not right. I wonder what it will take to motivate me to clean the darn house. How do you motivate yourself to do house cleaning?

When you discover where to buy that wand, please send me the link. I have to do the same and I hate that job.

It's very exhausting. I'd never be able to do it for a living. Amazed how some pull it off.

If you could invent and patent a magic wand that cleans, you would be rolling in money and you could hire someone to do it for you. When my place starts getting ugly, I watch hoarding shows on youtube. After a couple hours of that, I can run through my house throwing stuff away. I clean the bathroom daily and the kitchen is always clean. It is the living areas that throw me for a loop.

@lovebuglena When you look at other people's messes, it wakes up your instinct to throw everything you don't need or love into garbage bags.

My main thing is getting rid of all the dust and washing the floors. Though I hate doing other stuff like cleaning toilets, sinks, mirrors as well. I'd rather wash sinks full of dirty dishes than clean.

Maybe I should watch some hoarding shows for motivation.

I wonder where all the dust comes from. Under the bed is the worst.

I can't clean anymore; so we have our little housekeeper; but she hasn't come in two months; and the house sure is dusty and dirty! I hope she can come soon.

I'd hire a cleaning person but can't really afford it.

I feel lazy too but what can I do it needs be done and nobody else will do it except me. I literally drag myself to do it hahaha I'm even allergic to dust and dirt. I wear mask when I sweep, mop and dust. When I dust I use damp cloth so dust don't fly around. I don't use feather duster too.

I am not allergic to it thankfully but still can't bring myself to do it. From time to time I may pick up a pile of dust mixed with my hair off the floor but of course that is not cleaning. And it comes back. Dust and hair everywhere.

Maybe I am lazy but I think it's not laziness. It's no desire and aversion to cleaning.

It`s hard but there`s nothing I can do but to clean it myself. It`s hard to relax when your place is dirty and disorganized. Right?

Of course, everything should be put away and everything should be dust-free and spotless clean. But if I had to choose between a place that is not clean and one that is neat and tidy but dirty, I'd choose neat and tidy. Hate when stuff thrown everywhere. I hate dust and dirt too though. Wish it would magically disappear and never come back.

Hubby doesn't even clean the toilet... He will get stuff all over it but won't wipe it down.

Dusting it off takes time but using a vacuum cleaner it could done easily. Why not get one?

Not very comfortable vacuuming the floors with the vacuum I have. I use Swiffer to dust the floors and shelves.

@lovebuglena What's Swiffer? Is it a brand of vacuum cleaner?
