A WELL traveled package, Thanks Fed Ex

I had finally saved up enough money to replace one of my sewing machines, the machine that did embroidery along with the fancy sewing that I used for when I dressed the teddy bears. It wasn't the machine I originally going to get, this one is better, I think, I haven't received it yet. I ordered it May 20th and it should have been at my home in two days. That was a week ago. It was shipped by Fed Ex. I kept following it through the tracking number. It would go to the main distribution center in the Los Angeles, then be shipped north to where I am and loaded onto the delivery truck where it would get to ride around the area and then it would ride back to Los Angeles. This went on for 8 days. Yesterday (May 28th) I called Fed Ex to find out what was going on. I actually got a live person within 2 minutes! Wow was I shocked!!! I asked what was going on with my package and was informed that there was an exception on the package because they couldn't get through the gate to my "business". Interesting, none of my packages ever are sent to my business address which are the same as my home address. I was told that I could reroute my package to my business and that would cost me extra for the service. Hummmm, that doesn't make much sense since my business is in my home. I decided to try to patiently explain to the customer service representative about my living situation. I started with the fact that I live out in the country and that I have to go through an electric gate to start back to my home. I also have to cross a creek (without a bridge) and travel another 8 miles to get to the gate to my community. The gate to my community is also an electric gate that is "locked" and can only be opened by using a code that is entered into a key pad that is outside the gate. I also explained that we don't want delivery trucks driving on the roads in our community because that would cause us to have to spend a lot of money to maintain the roads. I finished with explaining that we have a large delivery box outside the gate for UPS and Fed Ex to deliver the packages to and that the box has been there for nearly 45 years and that the driver can deliver the packages to that box. (Come to think of it he has delivered packages to that box before...the over paid moron!!!) After talking to the customer service rep she assured me that the sewing machine should be delivered to me today (Friday May 29th). I'm not holding my breath. The excitement over the replacement machine has waned. It only had 130 hours on it...and it has all the accessories and even more that the previous owner had purchased. If the packages don't arrive today you'll hear an explosion that will rival an atomic bomb...you'll hear it across the United States with no problem at all! So, to save your ear drums, keep your fingers crossed.

I didn't speak the right language. We had to go to town yesterday and it wasn't in the delivery box, and it wasn't marked as delivered on their site so I get to call and complain louder. I saw several Fed Ex trucks and wanted to chase them down and mug the guy...I wonder if there is justifiable mugging as a defense?

One sewing machine going on a never ending round trip is definitely annoying. Let's hope Fed Ex delivery does not make it strike 2... You know what happens if they reach strike 3

@BearArtistLady Good luck! By the time you receive it the sewing machine model will probably be discontinued

Well we've hit day 10 on the sewing machine's vacation trip. It's seen more miles than I've seen in a long time. I may have to call Fed Ex again and raise some hell. I think they deliver on Saturdays, so I will call and check and see if they are going to try to deliver...I'm not going to hold my breath!

That's so disappointing! I am sorry to hear your excitement has faded. I followed a package of mine a few months ago, and watched it get delivered two cities over from mine. No one could tell me why it was delivered not just the wrong address, but the wrong city!

I had that happen with a package that went through the USPS. I never did figure out that one. Fortunately it had a tracking number on it so it could be found. The sewing machine was supposed to be delivered yesterday, it wasn't. I'm about to holler "UNCLE" and let them keep it...if they already haven't. It could be that the driver took it home to his wife to let her use it for awhile and after she has broken it I might get it.

Hope you get it today. They can come up with some wild reasons.
