Lots of technical difficulties at church this morning

We're still having church in the parking lot of our church in our cars. We had about ten cars or so and the weather was perfect this morning. Since it was fifth Sunday of the month, we didn't have a preaching service, just a song service. I was scheduled to sing two specials. The first lady who sang used a microphone to sing with while her husband played the guitar. That was really good until the mic quit on the last verse of the last song. Really disappointing. Then it was my turn. A friend who runs the audio equipment had trouble getting my CDs to work, but after changing up something, they seemed okay. I sang both songs and then that friend sang a few songs. He kind of sounds like Elvis Presley (he's our granddaughter's other grandfather.) It's a small community, so a lot of us are connected in some way or another. I'm on the schedule to sing again next Sunday, so I need to get a couple of songs practiced. My husband and son played golf this afternoon...it's been a really nice day. Hope you all have had a great weekend. Anything special?

I got confused at first until I realized that the church service is being done like in a drive-in movie area. That's very creative.

Until we can have service inside the church building again, we all park our cars, roll down the windows and listen to the service and music from the loud speaker. Instead of clapping or saying Amen, people beep their car horns to show appreciation!

@1creekgirl gee, I would like to see that kind of congregation here. But I have not heard of one.

@Alexandoy Are people there still not allowed to go to church inside?

For the first time I hear that something like this is organized, a good idea

It's at least better than not having church.

church gatherings is still banned in SA but are hoping in the next 14 days to lift that and limit only 50 people per service, My question is, who gets to go? We have been listening to services on the radio every Sunday as a relief.

That's a good question. Is it first come first serve? Will the first 50 who stand in line before day break get to join the service? We wouldn't have any problem as we usually only have about 30 anyway!

Went for ice cream today, lol. I'm guessing they're church songs?

Yeah, I sang "I Wonder if He Ever Cries" and "Sky Full of Angels". Have you heard either of those?

I had a nice Sunday reading about the riots around our nation before I decided to write some good news stories on this site.

I can understand. I'd much rather read your reports of encouraging actions than the lawless acts disguised as protests.

@1creekgirl It bothers me that rioters who never knew George Floyd do not realize the saying "If you want revenge, bring two coffins."

I run the sound system at our church and it sometimes wants to do its own thing. It can be frustrating at times. Glad it was still a special time to gather and worship Him. Good luck with your upcoming songs.

What a shame that the microphone gave up at the end. I hope that soon people will be allowed to go back inside the Churches.

That's a shame about the technical difficulties. I'm sure many will be pleased that golf has started up again.

I'm glad you are able to participate with your singing. I'm sure your husband and son were glad to get out and play golf.

Soon everything will get back of track. Things get messy when they aren't done for long.

That's what I hate when a singing presentation is to happen a technical occurred. That's too embarrassing to the singer and disgusting to the audience. It's good in your part. You sang the two songs without a problem.
