Showing Off the New Shoes

Recently, our good friend Carol (@CarolDM) wrote a post showing off some beautiful new sandals she had just bought. Well, it turns out that I had just bought some new running shoes as well, and I jokingly told her that I was going to write a post about my new shoes as well. But then she said go for it. So here is that post.
I like to run/jog as part of my overall fitness routine, so I am always on the lookout for new running shoes.
At the same time, I am a huge fan of the University of Florida, and so every year before football season starts I try to find and buy a new pair of orange and blue shoes (the school's colors) to wear to the football games.
So this year I killed two birds with one stone. I was able to find a pair of high-end, quality running shoes that just happen to be orange and blue. You can see the shoes in the photo.

@moffittjc I know! I'll probably be more into basketball next year too. My hubby has commented several times this year asking me why I was watching basketball!! We were cheated on BB, baseball and gymnastics with this virus!

@kareng When my daughter and I went out to dinner last night, she and I were talking about how much we couldn't wait for college sports to resume. She said that she doesn't care what sport it is, she wants to go see everything and anything when it resumes on campus! I told her we're going to baseball games for sure, because UF will be opening their new baseball stadium this upcoming season.

I heard recently that the Gator players had returned to campus and have started their summer workouts. I always look forward to the start of football season, but I know for sure that this year I am looking forward to it more than at any other time in my life.

@moffittjc I wore them in the hotel room in Kathmandu. They have a rubber sole. I'll write about them soon. I just have to find them first. I'll need them soon as it's getting colder here by the day.

@allen0187 Aren't those one of Saucony's original shoe designs? You can still buy them, but a lot of places I see that sell them market them as "vintage" shoes.

Cool shoes! I have not shoe shopped for me since December, I think! I have a lot of shoes . . . I pulled out the few pairs to wear during this whole virus lockdown thing and put the rest away from sight . . . so there's one for walking, one for shopping, boots for the cold days of shopping, one for the yard during gardening work, and some ol' flip flops. In time these will all be tossed - but I am not needing new shoes for now. I intend to buy post-pandemic shoes

Yes, students started coming back to campus this week, and classes start next week. Half of the students are taking online classes, half will be taking in-person classes. I fully suspect that it won't go well when classes start next week. Nearly every college campus that has started classes already have seen huge increases in COVID cases, and many are having to shut back down. I fully expect the same thing to happen here at UF. Thankfully, my daughter is taking all online classes.

@BelleStarr I was reading a newspaper article this morning that says UF is expecting to experience 500 new cases soon as all the students came back this week. They're already worried about house parties and drinking, and city officials talked about issuing civil citations to anyone who hosts gatherings of more than 10 people at house parties.

@moffittjc yeah, since Im headed back to STL today, and chances are, that will be where I use them. I have sensitive feet, so wading barefoot in rocky rivers hurts

Thanks. The shoes I bought are super comfortable, I can hardly feel that they are on my feet. And they are incredibly light weight as well.
I bought my son some water shoes a couple of weeks ago. His pair are black.

I love the blue and orange shoes. Yesterday I was looking online for a new pair of Crocs. I wear these around the house because they feel so good on my feet with my neuropathy. Well, the kind and color I wanted was out of stock. I tried several stores and they were the same. The only colors they had were white, light blue and light pink. I guess I will have to wait

Yes, Syracuse is blue and orange too, but their blue is a darker blue. Syracuse and Auburn both have very similar colors of orange and blue.

The shoes in my photo are Saucony. They are amazingly comfortable. I also have a pair of Nike running shoes, and a pair of Brooks running shoes. The Saucony ones are probably the most comfortable, followed by the Nike shoes. My Brooks are better suited for walking.

Oooh, those look pretty comfortable to do all that work in. I have not, the last pair of shoes I bought was back in December, but hey I got them for 3 bucks so that was pretty neat haha

Three bucks is a pretty darn good deal! I got these shoes for half price, and they still cost me $95! But they are super lightweight and super comfortable, plus it's a high quality name brand. I should get many, many good runs in with those shoes!

@DesirousDreamer For normal shoes, I try not to ever go over $50. I watch a few sites that sell shoes at discounted prices, and I'll grab up a pair if I see the price is right. However, when it comes to running shoes, I will spend whatever money necessary. In the past I have had knee and calf problems from wearing substandard running shoes. It really does make a difference in what shoe you wear. Since I like to do a lot of endurance running, it's best that I have good quality shoes, which is why I don't mind paying the higher price.
