A pipe-dream is defined as "an unattainable or fanciful hope or scheme."
During the lockdown months, my hubby and I have resorted to doing a lot of virtual travel and watching many travel blogs and videos sent by friends across the globe. We even do the morning VENICE watch, which my hubby finds most fascinating as the water taxi's fetch and carry everyone now that some of the restrictions have been lifted in Italy. This link comes live to us from a weather app link - I know we may not promote other links, but if you google it with the right questions I am sure you will find it.
In doing all this virtual travel, we have come upon some waterfalls in ICELAND. Google says "There are around 10,000 plus waterfalls in Iceland, and they are as varied and beautiful as they are many. Iceland's climate and the location is especially suited to waterfalls with frequent rain and snow, combined with the multitude of glaciers that melt in summer."
Now for someone who has gone from Lighthouse Chasing to Walking Waterfalls, this would be a place I would like to see - God willing.
There are fourteen exceptional waterfalls in Iceland, and if possible I would like to see a few of them especially Brúarfoss.
Did you know The Most Beautiful Waterfalls in the World are rated as follows:
"1. Victoria Falls, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
2. Iguazu Falls, Argentina and Brazil.
3. Angel Falls, Venezuela.
4. Niagara Falls, New York and Ontario.
5. Yosemite Falls, California, USA.
6. Plitvice Falls, Croatia.
7. Kaieteur Falls, Guyana.
8. Gullfoss Falls, Iceland. "
Have you been to any? I would love to hear your story if you have visited any of the waterfalls mentioned, in the meantime, Brúarfoss, Iceland - you are my pipe-dream!
I give you my photo of climbing the Highest waterfall in the Southern Hemisphere - Sentinal Peak - The Tugela Waterfall in the Drakensberg Mountains - Yes I climbed to the top!

I’ve not been to any of them. I don’t really watch travel things as it makes me want to go.

@Inlemay you’re right that’s the part I need to do, it’s not helped that so far this year I’ve had to put off 3 lots of plans (travelling round Scotland in April, working on the Isle of Wight and travelling down to Italy in September). Still there’s always other years.

I've only been to local waterfalls. They are always so pretty.
I've heard of all but the last two on your list and seen pictures of them. I agree. They're beautiful and I would like to see them in person. However, they are a pipe-dream.

Waterfalls are truly a sight to behold. I've only ever been to Zimbabwe/Zambia's stunning Vitoria Falls but on the Zim side. In recent years, I've become fascinated with Iceland - I never gave it a thought until I saw a tv tourism advert and was floored by just how beautiful it is, even as cold as it appears LOL

I've been to Niagra falls in 1973 approx. I think I was on my honeymoon with my ex. We didn't stay there long but we did traipse around where tourists were allowed to walk.
Our state has several remarkable waterfalls in the upper peninsula but possibly so do many other states making it too difficult to name each one. I also went to Hawaii and saw several there as well.
What I like is being on top of mountains and looking down at the cities or fauna below. I was on the top of my. Capitan on new Mexico twice and once in the white mountains in new Hampshire or near there. Even mt madanock was awesome even though it only took half an hour to hike up it was seen from out our window in Keene, NH if I remember right.
If you don't get to any in this life maybe it will be the next. Travel will be much faster then.
