What's for dinner tonight?

It's morning here, so I haven't planned dinner for tonight yet. But last night's el cheapo dinner was a success: a simple frozen chicken pot pie, not unlike the ones we had in childhood days on those glorious evenings when the parental units went out for dinner. Have you had "pot pies" ? Do you like them? I still find them yummy.

I love chicken pot pies. Have had these all of my life. The crust is my favorite.

I love when the entire crust is crisp and brown, but not black.

@CarolDM Yum! I like the crust kind of brown and crisp on my lasagna and mac and cheese as well.

I have eaten hundreds of pot pies through the years. They used to be a cheap meal but the price has gone way up. They are hot, satisfying, and filling especially when you eat two.

@TheHorse I remember when I could buy three for a dollar. The price has gone way up. I wonder if they are the same size or smaller.

The one I had last night was only $1.25, I think. It wasn't very big, but it did the job.

I always make them when I have leftover chicken. I see one in my future as I am roasting a chicken tonight.

Pot pies are indeed yummy. For our main meal today, my husband made my homemade BBQ sauce; and we are having it over country style pork ribs.

@TheHorse Just some potato salad and coleslaw. When I used to be able to cook, I would make cottage potatoes; and my husband would have some applesauce too.
