Plans in July? / myLot

My dad's side of the family always gets together for a few days for the July 4th holiday at a "resort" about two and a half hours away. It's a big to do since my dad is the 15th of 16 children (one mom, one dad, no twins). I am going simply to spend time with my sister's family. I also love my aunts, as they are hilarious! On the last day there, July 6th, we will celebrate Amyra's 9th birthday, by leaving the "resort", and going to Silver Dollar City, an amusement park in Branson, Missouri. Amyra has wanted to go for years, and as a birthday surprise even my dad and his wife are going. I can't wait to see her little face. I haven't been since I was sixteen myself. What are the plans you made for July 4th? I know it's just an American holiday, but I'd still like to know what you'll be up to, if you happen know already. My last trip was canceled the day I was supposed to leave because of the coronavirus. I'm hoping nothing derails this one.

I hope your July 4th plans would happen. Here, we have no plans for a trip because traveling is discouraged by the checkpoints aside from the social distancing regulations.

Omi gosh, I thought she was still practically a baby..Time flies doesn't it? I am going to visit my hometown on the 4th and see family. I am flying..hopefully, I don't come down with Corona as a result I plan on changing clothes, using hand sanitizer possibly gloves the whole bit., and I am not a germaphobe at all..see what Corona has reduced us to?? lol

I think you'll be well prepared with everything you listed. I don't think you missed a single precaution. Yeah, Amyra will be 9, and later this year Hudson will be 5. They have come so far.

That sounds like so much fun. Amyra will be totally excited. I hope you share pictures. If it's open, I want to go to the local amusement park, Bay Beach. We would always go there for the 4th of July when I was a kid. So going on the 4th has a special meaning for me. I hope it's open.

@AmbiePam I will if it's open. I looked and found out the fireworks are canceled, so I don't know if the park will be open yet.

I remember your trip got cancelled. We normally go to the next county over for a dinner picnic and fireworks show . . . but I don't know if it's going to happen this year. In any case, we don't want to be where too many people are gathering yet - I'm thinking we'll be kicking it home this July 4th . . . maybe a bbq at home.

I am hoping my Grand daughter with her Husband and kids come up from Atlanta, like the do every year around that time to have a birthday party for all her kids. I hope they'll be able Sounds like you have some great plans for the get together.

Nothing planned this year due to Covid. Probably just do our own little barbecue. Your 4th sounds like a lot of fun and I can't believe Amyra is already going to be 9!! Wow

Nothing planned for the holiday unless my family gets together for the first time this year. It's a busy time of the year so I usually work it. I am meeting my daughter's upcoming in-laws next weekend with my husband. We were supposed to meet in April. They are paying for much of the wedding. They live two hours from us and it will be nice to consider and get to know them before the wedding itself.

I hope that you can all gather, it will mean so much especially after surviving the first spike of this awful pandemic. July 4 is my Dad's anniversary, this year will mark 11 years since he passed.
