Local flooding at our place - just kidding

It has rained most of the night and is still raining this morning. We have warned of ‘severe weather and flash flooding’. The severe weather mostly seems to pass us by and we are well above the surrounding countryside so flooding is unlikely to be a problem. Sometimes the road near our front gate gets covered in water but you’d hardly call it flooding. The photo shows the area at the back of the house. Water does pool up along the paving but it will drain away almost as quickly as it accumulates. I guess we could say we have local flooding. lol Vince won’t be able to play golf this morning but we will shop as we have guests coming tomorrow. We’re planning a special dessert so I’ll try to remember to take a photo of it.

Please remember to take a shot of it, you know we all want to see, right? I wouldn't mind if it would rain a little here but June is usually our hottest and driest month.

That's right, I almost forgot @JudyEv so on the 20th of June you'll be getting the longer days thereafter, correct?

I am glad it is just a kidding. Here in the south it has rained a lot in these days. It leads to have the flood in several provinces already. This year is really tough.

@JudyEv Not in the city, but I think some villages have suffered it.

Sometimes the bad things just keep happening. Is it likely to flood where you are?

When it rains a lot in my neighborhood, the front view of the home does get flooded a lot and the backyard looks nice and wet from the rain.

I haven't seen birds having a bath today. Nary a one! I guess they are all trying to stay out of the rain.

@JudyEv Sir, we live in Gorakhpur, close to Nepal, this flood has not come yet, but if there is continuous rain, it can also cause flooding.

We chose this area of WA to retire to as even in a drought there is more rain than in some areas.

Ah, a temporary pool there! We don't get true floods in our area . . . though during rare heavy rain our street might become a river (but it all flows along the other side of the street) and then we get a mini lake at the end of the street. Special dessert - I'm in !

It looks like we'll have quite a few days with rain but it's our winter so rain is to be expected.
