I Love It, but There is No Way I’m Buying This!

I saw this blanket on Facebook and had a good chuckle. It’s so me, well almost. However, it won’t match my decor, and if something doesn’t go well together, I stay away from it.
One thing I do not like on display in my house is a doily. Even my grandmother didn’t like them.
. Do you use doilies?
Anyway, today is a beautiful sunny day. I’ve been very busy with the usual, including online grocery shopping. The ordeal is over now, including the sterilization process.
I’m looking forward to Friday date night and a nice martini.
Happy weekend!

Okay, I must admit, that is really cool! But you are right, if it doesn't go with anything, then it doesn't make sense to buy it. Just keep it as a photo saved in your phone or on your computer, and call it a day! And if you ever want to show anybody, you can pull up the photo and show them!

I have a red what you call it on my black table- might be a doily?? Anyway, the contrast is fantastic and the piece matches the shape of the table itself. And yeah, there's a white cut out what's it on my Grandma table- round. Matches that table perfectly. So sue me.

By the way sorry I forgot to add that blanket is a bit tacky and I am sure would not suit anywhere in your house!

I was thinking like a actual doll. I have never heard that to describe a blanket. Its good to know people use slang besides me.

Heh--when Mom and I were in the stores and saw a little rack of ornaments or those little liscence plates with names on them, we always looked for ones with my name spelled "correctly" most of the time my name is spelled w/o the "E" --"Stacy" but when Mom named me she spelled it "S-t-a-c-E-y". Most things have it without the "E", but on occasion we'd find something that had my name spelled "correctly".

@DianneN LOL--I was actually thinking about the different ways people spell "Dianne" when I was writing my answer.
I always thought that my name spelled without the "E" -- "Stacy" looked like it should be pronounced "Stacky".

@xstitcher
That's hilarious! It would still be pronounced correctly if one was aware of spelling rules.

Doilies were definitely a thing in the past although we do still tend to use disposable doilies when serving cakes to guests but we do not use them just for us!

@birjudanak We had nice warm weather without it being too hot and no humidity to speak of. I call those perfect days.

No, we don't use doilies. Have a great date night. I will be working on trying to launch my TV mirroring device.

Doily long ago not in vogue
When I saw the photo ok it says Dianne but it didn't fit in with you at all, I wasn't wrong when I read the text
Enjoy in your evening

@DianneN I like the text, it's not a problem, but the color somehow looks...and piled on top of each other. I just don't like this design with you

We do not use doilies, but my Grandmother used to crochet them. From what I remember of them, they were beautiful in a really old fashion sort of way. She used to sell them and hand-sewn blankets to the local stores where she lived. I suppose if I had a few of the doilies or a blanket, they would be on display somewhere. Probably in a frame behind glass but not on the furniture I think.
