This is one of those odd rescues where a group of ducklings who managed to get away from the mom duck fell down a storm drain on Friday morning in Saint Albans West Virginia.
A concerned neighbor contacted the local authorities to report the incident. The local firefighters, a humane employee, public works and utility employees to team up to get the ducklings out of the storm drain and reunite with their mom who I am sure appreciated the kind act of the city employees to save her children from a terrible fate this morning.

I know if I was a duckling, I would be concerned myself what happened as well.

@Shavkat It is in some people's nature to ignore someone who is in danger like a duckling.

The mom duck must have been overjoyed and is one duck who is not going to bring her duckling so far away from the water again I am sure

as always first responders doing more. i wish we could get a balance right now. no one likes the police until you need them.

It is a shame that because of a few rotten apples in the force, the police get a black eye from the court of public opinion.

@Deepizzaguy we need reform, as much to help the good first responders as to get rid of the bad ones.

@Deepizzaguy Yes they should be attended by humans for the birds are inferior and they've limited ability to save themselves when they are in trouble.
