There is this author I love by the name of Ellen Hopkins who writes novels in verse for teens/young adults and adults as well. Though novels in verse is what she usually writes, she also wrote two prose novels for adults.
I just found out that she is releasing a novel in verse for children called Closer to Nowhere. It's for children ages 10-13.
I am a 37-year-old but I really want to get this book. I think I will really enjoy it. There is nothing wrong with me wanting to read it in my opinion... No one said just because a book is for kids that adults can't read it.
I read the entire six-book Land of Stories series by Chris Colfer, which is for kids and I loved it. I am thinking of getting his new series for kids as well.

The book sounds interesting, I still read books for kids and teens myself and I'm a few years older than you.

I think I've read more YA books than adults ones.

There was an Australian Young Adult series which we both enjoyed. My husband has read them again recently.

@lovebuglena It was about Australia being invaded by a foreign country and some young people becoming resistance fighters.

It comes out in October from what I remember. I will hold off ordering it.
