The party from Hell.

It turns out I'm lucky I had the stomach flu last week and couldn't go to a music party over the weekend. One person there had Covid-19, so now all of the people who attended the party are rushing to get tested. My friend just emailed me about this an hour ago. One friend wound up in a car accident after getting tested. A weekend from Hell. I hope your health is good, and that you are staying safe.

Life is strange, isn't it? This is a wonderful yearly party. I was heartbroken that I had to sit reading Calvin and Hobbes and could not attend.

We are doing the best we can to stay safe. Sounds like you were lucky to have the stomach flu, bad as that is I'd take it over the covid. Hope your friends will be okay.

@RubyHawk I sure hope so. I'm proud of how people in my immediate community have handled the virus. Everyone is wearing masks when inside a store, and people remain in good spirits.

I think they're all getting tested. They would have called their doctors, who would then have ordered the tests.

That is very worrying. If that happened here, those attending would probably be expected to go into home quarantine for a fortnight. It's lucky you weren't able to attend.

I'm sure my friends who were exposed will go into self-imposed quarantine. The two I'm closest with have already been tested, and tested negative.

Perhaps God saved you from going to the music party. It is best to stay away from more crowded areas. So did others too got the virus? What are the updates? Things are opening but the risks remain.

@TheHorse I hope that they come out negative in the tests. Yet I would advice you not to attend parties for a long time, unless there is some serious financial implication for you.

Two of my closest friends said they tested negative. We'll hear about the rest, especially those who are closest to the woman who tested positive. She's a wonderful older woman, and I ALWAYS spend time talking to her when she and I are both at a music party.

I sincerely believe that the Universe (some might say God) steps in sometimes and protects us from ourselves. I have had similar experiences to what you describe. I think that may be what you just experienced. Glad you dodged that bullet.

@TheHorse The good thing is that only a small percentage of those who get it do poorly. And many never even feel symptoms. But it is a nasty bug for those who do. Good luck to your friends.
