June 19 - What I'm Thankful for Today

This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. God has blessed me with so many blessings it's hard to mention all of them, so I give you the highlights of my day and give God the glory for it.
I'm thankful for the ability to swim. I learned at a young age. My father taught me, not in a pool, but a lake near where I lived. Every summer after that you could find me in the pool. I took lessons so I could be a better swimmer and today, I enjoy going to the YWCA daily to swim and socialize with a group of people who have come to mean a lot to me.
I'm thankful for the gift of words. One thing my mother always accused me of was using the right word at the right time even though I didn't know what it meant. I still do that. Only this time, I make certain it's the word I want to use as I spend hours of my day working on stories. I started putting words down on paper to make stories at the young age of 8. It might have been the same time I learned to swim. Ever since you could find me with a pencil or pen in my hands and a notebook to write my stories in. Today, my gift of words has made me an author. I give God all the credit for the words and my being an author. I couldn't write without His help.
I'm thankful for my education, which taught me how to use a computer. I first came in contact with said beast in college. I didn't learn in school as many of you do today. In high school, I used something they call an antique today, a typewriter. I took typing class so I could become proficient on said machine, the forerunner of the computer keyboard. My typing skills gained me a massive 39 words a minute. Yeah, I know how fast that is. However, I don't look at the keyboard when I type, I look at the screen and I know immediately when I've spelled a word wrong. Not because of the red underline, but because of the wonderful brain God gave me which speaks out silently each letter as I'm typing it. It's a wonderful gift to spell words correctly. I was an ace speller in school.
I'm thankful for sites like myLot that help me earn a little bit extra a month, but more than earning that little extra is coming in contact with people around the world in a moment, the blink of an eye. Back when I was in school we sent letters in the mail and waited weeks for a reply. Now, it takes seconds to get a reply from someone on the other side of the world. Amazing. Another amazing thing about that is the friends I've made. I don't know you personally face to face, but from what I've learned about you in our interactions, we've become friends. One day I would love to meet each of you in person. That would be totally awesome, a mind-blowing event. I often wonder, would we still be friends after we met. I hope so.
So, I'm thankful for swimming today, for interacting with you, and for getting work done on Vendetta. I'm thankful for achieving all my fitness goals.
I used to be a skinny kid. I was active in my younger days and didn't have the problem with weight I have today. Before I went to college, my highest weight was while I was pregnant and I lost that the day the baby was born. My normal weight back then was between 115 and 135, which is what I was when I went to college. It was also the last time I was that slim. Now, I'm working at getting my weight under control and I get angry at a single pound that refuses to come off. I hope I see that tomorrow. It would be nice.
Okay, that's what I'm thankful for today and a little bit of history about me and my youth. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image is a skinny kid. Today, I think this skinny kid was darn cute. This is my 9th-grade picture.

I love your ninth picture. And I know you'll keep losing weight until you're exactly where you want to be. I'm thankful that I have family and friends, that I have sunshine and rain and that the virus has passed us by so far. And too many other things to write about. Did you finish editing your book?

This is a nice photo, I have none of the times I went to college. I was 90 pounds when I went to the college, I had been the same weight until I was in my mid 30, then I gained a few pound and I was 97 for a long time. Now I am 102, I think it's fine at my age.

Before I took my Commerce course in business administration I finished first a 2-year course in secretarial science. I can type any article in the typewriter without looking at the keyboard.

Thank you. It was my favorite dress that year. It was green with a green plaid skirt and sash.

That's very risky to learn in lake to swim and now you are like professional swimmer as i read your discussion from many times as you regular visit swimming pool in early morning. I am also thankful for computer too as it gave me lots of things so far as very useful thing in present. You are right with mylot as we earn small here which is very helpful too but we meet different people around the world and get to know many things.
