Does showing up on the Interesting Discussions page benefit us in any way?

I have seen many discussions of mine show up in the Interesting Discussions page. I thought it was cool that I made it to that list and that it means people are actually finding my discussions interesting.
But now as I understand it, the discussions that show up in the Interesting Discussions page are based on tags you have used and everybody's Interesting Discussions page looks different in terms of what discussions are there. Also, it doesn't mean that if a discussion shows up in that list that people necessarily find it interesting. Am I wrong?
Does showing up on the Interesting Discussions benefit us in any way? And speaking of interesting discussions why is the page called the way that it is.

I thought the exact same thing, but now I realize it's not correct. It has something to do with our word choices, as to where our discussion ends up. Every time I write about the weather here, BINGO! It goes straight to the Interesting Discussions. Why? When you figure it out, please let me know.

According to the FAQs page "Remember, tags you use will bring up similar discussions in the Explore-Interesting tab." So maybe discussions there are based on others using similar tags as you. But then why are ours there for us to see?

@lovebuglena I've been told, everyone sees a different list of discussions. Like you will see certain ones listed, while my list is totally different than yours.

@myklj999 Hmmm, this is very interesting. I was wondering if this had something to do with our choice of tags.

That depends if the person is interested in a way. Sadly, I couldn't afford to see all of them in the same day.

No (well, certainly not in terms of earnings). Because what you see in 'Interesting Discussions' is decided by the tags you have used in your own discussions and, maybe, those used in the discussions you have visited. Everyone, therefore, sees a different list based on their particular interests. When you visit (and possibly respond to) discussions listed there you are adding a cent or so to someone else's earnings, not yours.

@lovebuglena Yes, of course, though that applies to all the views of discussions, of course. It can, however, revive older discussions (if they have the appropriate tags to match those of whoever is viewing the list).
Page titles need to reasonably short in order to fit in the menu. I can't think of a shorter title which describes what the list is more accurately.

@owlwings I thought "Related Discussions" but that doesn't sound good. Perhaps "Discussions of Interest" is better but that brings in an extra word.

I guess it can benefit us in that if our discussions show up on that page when others view it then we can possibly get responses, which can lead to a few extra pennies coming our way.

@lovebuglena Yes, I have noticed that a lot of the suggestions are based on what you write or read and not necessarily what you find interesting.

And it also doesn't mean all discussions there are necessarily interesting.

But at first I thought it was an achievement that my discussions were there and I was very happy when I saw many in that list.

Gee, I do not use tags. I know that before but I have forgotten it already.

@Alexandoy They can help you get more readers and possibly responses. Sometimes I go into the search here and type in certain keywords (tags) and then read stuff that comes up in the search. It may turn out to be something someone wrote a while ago.

High response posts go into Hot Discussions. Those with lots of likes go to Top Discussions. Interesting Discussions is based on tags you've used. It gives you discussions with similar tags.

@Adie04 I think there is a certain time that a discussion stays in each list. I am not sure what that is though.

@lovebuglena I see. Thanks for the clarity. But then again I see the discussion won't stay. If people posts new, the high response at that hour will go straight to each sections.

True, however, doesn't mean all discussions there are interesting.

Yeah, I wonder why that is. If anything when I view it it should be more of others' posts not mine.

Well, if your posts end up in that list then you can potentially get more readers and responses to those posts.

Some people look specifically under that category to find interesting discussions.

I go there too. Some stuff I find there may not be interesting to me, so the title seems a little misleading or perhaps inaccurate is the better word.

It's just a sort of promotion I understand. What's important is the frequency of your interactions that matters. Those posts categorized as interesting discussions are temporary.

@lovebuglena That's right. If you interact with them, of course you will be earning.
But I would rather prefer to interact with my users I followed and you are one of them.
