The chandeliers swayed!

Last night, while I was seated doing something, I felt the floor moved. I did not mind it because I thought the dog under my chair touched the chair. When I saw the dog was lying on the floor about a foot away from me, I just shrugged it off.
But my son who was also seated in front of his laptop spoke loud, "earthquake", I looked up to the chandeliers and they both were still swaying. I agree with him.
My sister peeped through her door; I uttered "earthquake". My brother who was taking a bath was also unaware of the quake.
In late night news, it is confirmed the quake occurred in another province that is in close proximity to ours.
There is a dormant volcano here in the northern town of my province. I hope it won't erupt or spill sulfur smoke.

@ridingbet I remember when we had earthquakes in the south of France, living at the 5th floor was scary, you can really feel the house shake.

@ridingbet The buildings in Monte Carlo are all tall, from 8 floors to 42 floors. Our friend who lived at the 40th floor was really scared during the quake.

that is what we always wish for if we feel the earth moves. i was in Kuwait when that freat quake happened here in my country (1990) wherein many people perished and many buildings collapsed.
