It was a different world twelve months ago

No-one could deny that the world has changed dramatically over the last twelve months. This time in 2019 we were staying with friends in Austria. We first met our friend when she was backpacking with her then-partner. It was one of those occasions when you just click with a person. Since then, we have visited her on three separate occasions. Her little girl is having horse-riding lessons and we went along to watch. At the establishment, were some newly arrived alpacas and the white pony was very anxious to make their acquaintance. You can see that the alpacas have been shorn. We hope one day to get to Ireland again to see our son but I doubt we’ll visit Austria. Luckily, we have lots of photos and some lovely memories.

It's lovely, isn't it? They had a big black one that these tiny kids were using for sort of vaulting exercises. This is our friend's daughter. The display case is for her.

What a beautiful pony, greeting those sweet alpacas:) Yes, everything has changed, nothing is the same as it was before. And the leadership is worse than it has ever been, in the entire history of the world!

@kobesbuddy Our country was in a good position but then the government changed hands and it wasn't managed so well. As far as corruption goes, I think we aren't too bad. There is some of course but mostly it's stamped on pretty quick if it comes to light.

I think many governments are at a loss as to how to deal with the situation.

@JudyEv Our government has been corrupt for a long time. Now with our economy failing, they have to reverse the damage they first created.

Can't imagine how fast the world has changed because of the virus. Just last December a lot of us were making Christmas posts without a hint what was in store for the world just after the New Year. Hope things would be back to normal so you could travel as freely as before.

@JudyEv most of us in the free world would in my opinion feel the full impact of the change when this virus is still with us come Christmas and the new year celebrations which most likely will be the case

@rebelann I like watching sheep and cows and how they interact. Cows often have a buddy and they will spend sessions licking each other.

I was just thinking about this a few days ago. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that a year later we would be going through this. It makes me yearn a little for those days last year when things were different.

@simone10 It takes a while for a vaccine to be tested properly so it could be a year or two.

@TheHorse The news today says more and younger families are buying caravans (trailers), obviously intending to holiday 'at home' as it were rather than going to places like Bali.

There are four or five backpackers that we stay in touch with which is probably pretty good odds. Some of them have seen so much of the world - and they're still young!!

That is a nice photoograph. Yes, we do miss many of the things. I recall that we visited Malls during last summer and well kids used to enjoy it during their vacations. That was also the time of World Cup 2019, and well there was so much action going on then.
