I got paid today

I don't work during the summer. That being said I still get paid. Well, technically not "paid". But I get disbursements of money July 1, July 15, August 1, and August 15. The district withholds 10% of each paycheck and then sends me payments throughout the summer. It is called "summer savings" and I really like it. I'm not great with money so this means that I don't have to stress about saving to get through July and August. Even better--the amounts are more than what I normally receive since I'm not paying into my pension, my health insurance, union dues, etc. I've been buying more online now that I've been bored and stuck here in the apartment. The extra money will be helpful to pay off my credit cards.

I will get paid Friday, but it is not summer savings. It is about four or five days of work from May. They are going to adjust pay periods next year so that we get paid more closely to the days we work. I wish I had an option of "summer savings" because I struggle with these low check/no check months

It's so easy to spend online. I had a lot to get to start a new life in a new apartment. Now I have everything I need and am detoxing off my spending spree, lol. Anyway, I'm glad you are getting that money. It always feels so good to have a security blanket maybe in savings and get credit cards paid off. I bet it is exciting to look at those payments without the withholdings for everything you usually have. I remember getting so depressed looking at all taken out of my pay checks.
