I thought it was broken

I have a portable dishwasher. I loaded it last night, connected it to water, turned the controls and all I got was "clunk". I knew it was broken. I have had it more than two years, it was free. Well this morning, I discovered that the power strip it was plugged into was unplugged. It is not broken. Yay!! I hope you have days when bad news turns to good like mine did.

That's great feeling when this kind of thing happened and now you can use as its not broken.

It makes cleaning up the kitchen easier, and I feel the hot water kills germs better, so I am happy.

I was too sleepy to think straight the night I decided it was broken. I am glad I found out about the cord. There is a deep freeze plugged into it as well.

@GardenGerty yeah our power board sparked and shorted out our power... We had to remove it and then go and turn the power back on

I think they are more sanitized when they go through the dishwasher, too.

Yes, it was a free appliance, it is old, but I do not have money to replace it right now.

When something goes wrong I always ask Vince 'What's the simplest thing it could be?' Often it is a simple fix. I can imagine your relief at finding the dish-washer isn't broken.

I know call centers for television and internet service are supposed to always ask "Is it plugged in?' before anything else.

@JudyEv My nephews worked in similar positions. They always had to ask that.

@GardenGerty We watch The IT Crowd on TV sometimes about an IT support group in a big office building and, if the phone rings, their first comment is always 'is it plugged in' then 'switch it off and switch it on again'. It's a funny show and one of the few we try to watch.

@GardenGerty I am so happy for you that it was not broken. I have had some things not work and then somehow they worked again. I have also had things that did now work also.

I was much too tired, when I decided it was not working. Eventually it will wear out, but maybe I can take care of it if I save money.
