Penalty for not wearing face mask

The fish vendor in the nearby market was penalized when someone reported her with a picture that she was not wearing face mask. The vendor's defense was the face mask was in her chin (as what the picture showed) just to take a breather because it is uncomfortable to wear the face mask continuously. There was foul play on the part of the person who reported, obviously. Today I went to the market to help the vendor. But their stall was closed. The other vendor said that it is 2 weeks penalty that they cannot sell fish.

Ooppsss...that is sad. I understand wearing mask all the day long and especially in the heat is very difficult. We need to take a breather in between

That is the reason of the vendor that she pulled down her mask to breath fresh air.

@JimBo452020 not really a setup but just waited because from time to time vendors in the market would remove their face mask for breathing.

She had to follow the rules, selling food without a mask is not acceptable here too.

@LadyDuck my suspicion is that the vendor has an enemy in the market. I will know the full story when I get to talk to the vendor.

The vendor has a mask. She just pulled it down for a minute maybe to get fresh air. Unfortunately the one with the camera was too quick to take her picture.

Two weeks seems rather excessive for a penalty for not wearing a mask. What if that vendor brought in $100 per day selling fish? That means the vendor would be out $1400 over the course of two weeks. So the penalty would essentially be a $1400 fine, a rather excessive punishment that doesn't fit the crime.

That is why I wanted to help in the mediation so I went to the market. Unfortunately, the stall was closed which means the penalty was already imposed. The vendor is a couple, husband and wife with 3 kids. Now I wonder how they will live if they have no savings.

Oh, I'm sorry she had to close her market, and I know wearing a mask all day would be hot and uncomfortable. Still the covid is out there waiting for us and I wish wearing a mask was mandatory here.

@RubyHawk it is up to us to learn how to avoid contamination. Let us not allow the government to impose rules, we can do it ourselves if we like. Blaming the president will not bring results, just hatred.

That's sad and I understand it could be frustrating to work like that the whole day but we do not know for sure if she was saying the truth when she said that she just pulled it down to get some fresh air. Law doesn't accept these kind of excuses. Hopefully next time she'll be more careful.

@Miracle_Maya people have always excuse ready if they caught red handed. Yes its true sometimes people cant take breath but if someone keep watching and they not even wear it but as we know people will try their best to save them. Its quite common at our place as not wearing mask.

It must be true that she must be wearing a mask and for a moment she must have pulled it down for fresh air, but even that could turn fatal as it would take seconds for the virus to breath in or breath out. And even if this was spared many would have taken the same reason as an excuse each time.

@Alexandoy people are very scared right now, even if a person doesn't feel bad they can still carry and spread this virus. So fear causes people to be nervous. The vendor as well was expressing an issue the masks are uncomfortable.

I don't have any breathing problems but when I wear a mask it is hard to breathe in it. And I am sure I am not the only one experiencing this. Not surprising she wanted to take it off for a minute. Sad though that at that moment someone chose to report her.
