Any plans for 4th of July?

Is anyone here in the US doing anything for tomorrow's holiday? For those who don't live here it is Independence Day which is the day that the Declaration of Independence (from England) was announced. It was read on July 4 1776. Anyway it is a day of parties and barbecues for most people. It is HUGE here at the Jersey Shore and probably the biggest weekend of summer. People travel for hours to get here and spend a few days relaxing and/or partying. There are plenty of fireworks displays too. My family and friends are going to the beach tomorrow. We'll talk, laugh, swim, nap, and have a big barbecue lunch. We will have to get there early in order to claim enough space for the 4 SUVs that will be there. The menu includes chips, salsa, hamburgers, hot dogs, ribs, potato salad, pasta salad, and I think pickles. Cookies for dessert. I'm probably forgetting a few things. I was going to bring clams to grill but my mother said that we already had enough food on the menu. The water was gorgeous yesterday so I hope it is as warm tomorrow. I rarely go in the ocean but I spent plenty of time in it. We couldn't get the kids out of it. What's everyone else doing for the 4th?

I usually will spend the weekend at one of the beaches around Florida. I really wanted to spend the weekend in St. Augustine, but because literally every fireworks show in the state seems to be cancelled, that means 20 million people will be flocking to the beaches instead. And I just don't need to deal with that crap right now with COVID surging again. So as of right now I have zero plans for the long holiday weekend. So sad. Usually this is one of my favorite holidays of the year.

So you do not want to contribute to make this pandemic great again? Here the Covid has quite disappeared but nobody will dance for our national holiday this year : all meetings are forbidden and the night clubs are still closed.

its different here in the Philippines, we also have independence day but its a celebration of freedom. In the US, I see people doing barbeque and get together. Pretty fun.

I'm home, eating potato chips and keeping my upset dogs in one piece. We'll be listening to the movie 1776, too.

Don't forget your sun block! We're not doing anything special; but I hope you and your family have a blast. Sounds like you will have a lot of food!
