When I was a kid this movie was my favorite

They used to show this every year. It is a great story of love, caring, and trust. The story is of a member of the first people, who carves a canoe and then releases it with the winter snow. He lives in the mountains far from the sea. The canoe makes it all the way to a lighthouse! I love this movie. It is one of my all-time favorite movies about try and do!
Canadian film board classic. This film played in Canadian schools back in late 60's/early 70's.

I managed to watch it all the way to the end, but it was a bit slow for me. Perhaps, I might have enjoyed it more when I was a boy too. But then again, maybe not, I have never liked movies much. I prefer to read books. Perhaps, God is such a boy, and we are his canoes....
