Roses Love the Sunshine

Went outside for the second time today to fill up the bird bath. The temperature is 92, feels like 97. Too hot to be outside.
Snapped a photo of the roses and buds. Many more will be blooming soon. They seem to love the sunshine and heat. You can see the bench in the background of Dustin's garden.
When the weather is cool or early mornings, you will find me sitting on the bench.
A very relaxing and peaceful place to visit. Right outside my deck.

The neighbors on either side of me both have yards full of roses. This spring, I decided I wanted to plant roses and connect the beauty from their two yards into my yard. But thankfully, before I went out and spent a lot of money, one of my neighbors told me that roses wouldn't do well in my yard because of the heavy tree canopy that keeps my yards shaded all day long. So I need to figure out some other colorful plants that would thrive in the shaded understory of talk oaks.

@CarolDM It's honestly too hot now to try and plant anything, it would put a lot of stress on the plants. So I will either wait until the fall, or early next spring. But it gives me plenty of time to plan.

@CarolDM I need to go do that! But I am spending time here first--we'll see how much I get done today! I suspect watering might be the extent--
