Two teenagers who live in Westland Michigan are gaining some well deserved praise from the founder of "Raising Men Lawn Care Service" founder Rodney Smith Junior. The names of the teens are Sam who is 16 years of age and his younger sibling Hunter who is 13 years of age started the challenge called the "50 Yard Challenge" by cutting lawns for free for elderly, disabled and war veterans since April of this year. The young men have found happiness by mowing lawns for free for persons who cannot due to physical limitations since it gives me something useful to do after the start of the pandemic that began in March this year. Smith plans to reward the family who did take up his challenge on social media by traveling to their hometown to reward them with prizes like a lawn mower, weed whacker and a blower as well as a thank you handshake. The best part of the free service of mowing lawns is that many teens are also answering the challenge of mowing lawns for free as a service for their neighbors as well.

It is wonderful! I often look with pity at my lawn. I cannot take care or it any longer so I gave it to Luna in a great part.

These young soon-to-be men will be learning a valuable lesson in that it's a great feeling to do something for others.

@JudyEv I remember a Mexican comedian who is no longer with us saying in an interview why he continued to make shows despite the fact that he was up in age. He answered "It keeps me young to continue to write and direct shows."

This is such a good post, at least something good came from the pandemic for the senior population.

@Deepizzaguy You don't see too many young people who care about seniors, even when there is no pandemic.

I agree with you that the pandemic did do some good of having kids assist the seniors who needed their lawns cut.

That's a wonderful thing. It makes it even better that they are doing this for those that are unable to do it themselves. The prizes will come in handy.
