How I spent the 4th of July weekend this year

Friday my daughter went to her boyfriends house for the first time. They’ve been dating for 4 months I believe. They had a fun time swimming in his pool. It was his mother’s birthday and so they had pizza and Reece’s ice cream cake. While she was there I took my dog on a long walk and my fiancé and my son went to the gun range to shoot targets. Saturday was the Fourth of July. I made two new recipes “Peanut butter chocolate chip pie” and “No bake Reece’s fudge bars”. Both were pretty good. I took them to my parents house and we visited outside for about an hour. For the engagement party we were gifted an engagement photo session. I couldn’t really find anything in the store that fit well or that I liked so I did some online shopping and finally found some things more my style. I’m thinking they might be to big though since Small was the lowest size I could order. Today my kids and I donned masks and went to a yard sale. My daughter got some scrapbooking supplies. When I got home I saw on Facebook a girl selling a brand new pair of size small maternity jeans for $5. I ran over and bought them figuring them may come in handy in two months. By the way it is two months today until my wedding. I’m feeling very nervous since my fiancé is procrastinating so bad and shrugging my worries off about booking a caterer and going to look at rings ASAP. The photo is just a flower I saw while hiking months ago.

I think a lot of guys are like that when it comes to planning a wedding. They just don't get the importance of the planning like us women do.

@simone10 it is so darn much planning and I only have two months to pull it off. Very frustrating.

@simone10 we are doing it in my backyard so we only had to pay for a tent rental and tables and chairs. We just paid for the caterer. My soon to be sister in law will be making the cake and cupcakes. It’s just all the decorations and things I have to decide on what to buy.

@shaggin I'm sure it is frustrating. So many phone calls, so many deposits and a lot of visits to decide on flowers, cake, etc.

I hope everything works out OK.I know someone who is happily married as far as I know, who had problems with her fiance about booking venues. They would always end up fighting about it. I guess it was pre wedding jitters since everything seems fine now.

@snowy22315 He is just go with the flow and I am a worrier. Usually I just let him be but we really need to get things lined up well to have a decent wedding. If he doesn’t call soon I’ll call the dang caterer myself. I was leaving it up to him because he knows what he wants for the food etc. I can at least see if they have that day available to put us down on the list.

@snowy22315 I kept bugging him to message his cousins for their addresses and he didn’t so I had to. He didn’t get mad luckily. So hopefully he won’t get mad about this either.

@shaggin I understand. If he is a go with the flow kind of guy though..he shouldn't be mad about you calling the caterer. Even if you just find out if she has the date available and when they need to know about the food, price list etc.

Two months is a short time, I can understand that you are stressed as your fiancé is procrastinating. This is a beautiful flower.

@LadyDuck we are at his parents house in Maryland now. We came down Monday. I’ve had to put wedding stuff out of my head for now nice I can’t do online shopping if I’m not home to receive the packages. We head home tomorrow so I will get started buying wedding stuff Friday. We were given a $100 amazon gift card for our engagement party so that will help with a lot!

@shaggin Relax until tomorrow. When you are back home you can start to shop online. That was great to have a $ 100 Amazon gift card.

@shaggin So that leaves you doing the worrying for two. That's a bit sad.

@DianneN doesn’t seem cute to me it’s ticking me off. I have so much to plan in such a short time. Since about a week before the engagement party he’s been being jerky again. I guess the engagement excitement has worn off for him. You could be right on the wedding jitters since his ex left him two weeks before their wedding years ago. I worry more then the average person but I think I’m appropriately worried about things and he doesn’t worry enough although he thinks he worries just the right amount and girls are crazy.
