So I figured out what the problem is and also the solution. The problem is the speechwriter. The solution is: Fire Trump's speechwriter! Yep yep. That'll do it! Well, you know a POTUS doesn't write his own speeches. But when you listen to Trump, it's like somebody's been combing through encyclopedias extracting facts and scouring the dictionary for words that they can throw exclamation points behind. Words like ... ANARCHISTS! Of course, I'm sure he tweaks the draft speech with his own ideas and personal experiences so it sounds genuinely like him and nobody will accuse him of plagiarism. But what if … what if he had to write his own speeches? ** Do I sound like I'm being disrespectful? Should I feel guilty for thinking this way? Do you think I'm being unpatriotic? Am I being unAmerican? Perhaps I'm an anarchist? I wish I could ignore him but I can't. He is the president.

Yes. He casually and sometimes cavalierly remarks and addresses matters of national security as if they don't MATTER. [i]As if[/i[ only what he thinks MATTERS.
