Well I have returned. The trip was nice, and good to have a change of pace. One thing that was quite interesting was the fact since most fireworks displays were cancelled people were putting on their own. The people who live on the next street up from my parents had a really premium display going. Their fireworks were awesome, and as good as any professional display I have seen. They must have paid 2,000 dollars for them, and the best part was we could see them outside the picture window. We also went to Lake Erie a couple of times. The weather was quite pleasant there, but now of course I have come back to the steambath!

Welcome home! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time! The steamboat hasn't hit here, yet, but it's on the way.

@snowy22315 All I know is that no rain is in sight here. Just temps around 90 and high humidity.

@DianneN Yeah, the humidity is the tough part, but it is July, what can you expect?

@TheHorse They live maybe 5 miles away. Here in my home community in VA. I am like 200 yards from the lake.

@snowy22315 How far are you from the Lake? I spent a lot of time on or near the shores of Lake Michigan in my younger days.

It was a good trip overall. My dad had an episode, but most of the time he was quite "with it."

Welcome Home, welcome back. Wow 2000 dollars for fireworks. That would feed me and Yvonne for a year.

They had to have been very expensive. The show went on for an hour or more, and they were quite spectacular!

@JimBo452020 Unless they took donations from friends and family and other neighbors to do this. I have no idea.

I'm glad you had a good time. I can't imagine paying thousands for fireworks, but as long as someone did, it's good you got to see them! Sorry you had to return to hot, steamy weather, yuck.
