The Three Muskateers' motto

Japan
July 7, 2020 2:03am CST
When I was a kid, the Three Muskateers were very popular in children's stories and maybe in a cartoon, I don't remember. But we all knew their motto: "All for one and one for all." It is a very good motto, I think. Nowadays, the news coming out of some places seems to have a new motto: "Me for me, and me for me." I do not like this motto at all. I don't think we can keep living if everyone takes up this new motto. Fortunately, there are many who are still concerned for others. I think most myLotters are people who care about each other and others. What is your favorite motto? Can you live by it?

We can be for each other by staying apart. That's kind of strange sounding but true right now.

I'm not sure it's only these days, probably humanity has been like this for a long time, but it just becomes more obvious now.

I love the Three Musketeers one all for one and one for all. Only last night it hit me that we are all running away from each other but not really on purpose its just how we are reacting to the outside news. I try to live by it but its not easy and that awful stuff you have to put on your hands had a perfume in it that made sneeze big time I had to use it although I donĀ“t want to to be able to go and eat with Family. .

@petatonicsca Yes I always do that but if you go into a Bar or such places you have to use their stuff on your hands and you have no idea what you are using just a chance of pot luck I had not sneezed in ages either it was a very strong perfume.

@lovinangelsinstead21 In Japan, going into a bar is a bad idea. That's where over 50% of our clusters have been. Bar, night club etc. I don't go to such places but I haven't been to a restaurant either.

So true, isn't it? We are living in a me me me world - I don't like that either. I don't know if I live by a particular favorite motto, but certainly I do wish people were less selfish .

This is the first time I heard about this motto "Me for me, and me for me.". A very selfish one. My favorite motto is from girl scouting "Be Prepared."

I made up the "me for me" one from what I am seeing in the news. I was a Girl Scout too, and now I study earthquakes, and I like the "Don't be scared, be prepared" motto from disaster organizations.

One I like is "Tomorrow is another Day." Kind of like giving yourself a second chance since at times we can be our own worst critics...

That reminds me of what I used to sing to my daughter, from the musical "Annie" Tomorrow, tomorrow, I love you tomorrow, you're only a day away.

@petatonicsca I like Alexandre Dumas's works. A lot of good words and we can quote some to be our reflection. If you ask me about my motto. maybe today i will take some words from Shakespeare's works. Today is a big day for me, i will have presentation in front of the leadership of my company. The presentation will be in zoom, and I've been prepare for this about 2 weeks. "To be or Not to Be" is my motto today. It is encouraging me and forget about the fears and doubts.
