Hi My Lot, Recently , I took part in the Tony Robbins "Comeback Challenge". This was offered for free on social media. Tony Robbins, incase you aren't familiar with him - is a world renown life coach. He has coached many famous people in the fields of entertainment, sports, politics, and has made a name for himself by offering huge week long retreats offering his life coaching, in addition to many books , videos, audio cassettes and online programs. Robbins, while he doesn't talk much about it, created himself after a childhood filled with abuse and shares his advice and wisdom - having come from poverty himself. So, I didn't know quite what to think but I figured it's free , so why not. Sure enough - Tony would come on a live video and speak every day for a week. He addressed topics like your old story (your past), health and fitness, finances and investing, relationships. Of course there was an option to buy the course (which offered a few perks) and there was some advertising for his virtual "Unleash the Power Within" event. This offended some people but I understood it. It actually was a lesson in itself. Offer something for free but also use the free thing to mention items you are actually selling, just don't do it too much to lessen the quality of the free offering. My main take aways were as follows - Identify what you want out of life. Think about why you want it. "Focus is power, where focus goes, energy flows" "Complexity is the enemy of execution" (in other words - the more complex a project the harder it is to take action) "Words create emotion" "Energy starts with the mind" (If you are worried about something right away in the AM you start the day with already less energy) Of course, there were some other points I disagree with him on... but he's Tony Robbins (Millionaire, coach to the rich and famous) and I'm ... well, I'm me .... so.... yeah.... I'm familiar with the name. That's all. Our family were all self-starters and didn't make him any wealthier.

I think I came to know him from the "Shallow Hal" movie (he had a cameo). Your family should put on motivational talks :-)

@FayeHazel Thanks, but we don't need any motivation for anything.

That sounds like it was really worth tuning in to listen. You can't really blame him for promoting a few of his courses/products/whatever.

I was happy I did it. I see some people in the Facebook group are still so highly motivated and fired up (good for them) and some , like me, it seems just absorbed a few points. But a positive all the same.

If people would only observe life they would naturally learn those lessons! On the other hand I went through Transactional Analysis ("Games People Play", "I'm Okay, You're Okay", etc.) in 1972 and have been a perfect human being since!!!

Ah yes, but , as I have found, a lot of people don't bother observing. Seems like many just satisfy whatever they want to do "right now". lol. Hey! I have a copy of "I'm ok, You're ok" - I haven't read it yet, though. Is it good? Most certainly you would know being an ideal human ;-)

I haven't heard of him. I'm glad you got a few takeaways from his talk. Nobody will fully agree with another person about everything. I'm glad it was worth listening to.

I think he first came to my attention in the comedy movie "Shallow Hal" - he had a cameo role Ah yes, good perspective there

Some terrific catch phrases there. Guess that's why he's a guru of motivational speakers. Of course, he's just a coach. It's up to your own hard work and personal drive to achieve these goals. Tony can't do it for you! His approach seems similar to a Sunday preacher who tries to inspire you by citing a relatable example.

Oh yes, the man is full of some great quotes, I knew you would appreciate that , DB. :-) Yes. Alas, it takes hard work and no one except you yourself can do it
