Was I Still Asleep?

When I first get up, I feed Daisy first, then make my coffee. Well, I must have still been half asleep because when I went to pour my first cup of coffee, it was hot water. I forgot to add the coffee . I don't think that has ever happened to me before. I went to the dentist yesterday and began the process of getting a top denture. Hopefully the process will be over in a month or so. I had the impressions done and that stuff is awful. I had to concentrate so I wouldn't gag. I have a very small mouth and it took them a while to find the right size plastic thing to put the plaster (not sure if that's what it's called ) in. I can't wait to get my smile back. *Photo from Pixabay *

I get our coffee pot ready in the evenings, and my husband has gone to pour coffee and gotten hot water, even worse, he has gone to pour coffee and there was no water in the machine. I hope that the denture process isn't too hard and goes relatively quickly.

You sound like me with the coffee pot . Fortunately, our coffee pot will beep if there is no water because I have done that before too

I know the goo you're talking about. It's horrible stuff but if you get a nice new denture out of it, it will be worth it.

Yes, you are so right. I'm lucky that I only have to get a top one which is easier to adjust to.

The impressions at the dentist is something I also hate, I have your same problem, the size is always too big. Are you getting an implant?

No, I can't afford implants because I would get them if I could. My insurance doesn't even pay for dentures. I had to save for them.

@simone10 I had one tooth pulled out, but I am scared to have an implant, I think I am not going to replace it, it is the last top right, you cannot even notice it is missing.

@LadyDuck To me, it seems like the implant would really hurt but I don't know.

I hope it won't take too long to get your smile back. I went through that process. My dentures are so tiny you can't see them when I smile. They're also of no value to me for eating so they stay in the cup. I only wear them for important pictures, like the photo on the back cover of my books. I hope you have a lovely smile when you get yours.

Did you go back and try to get the dentist to fix them? They are the ones who messed up by giving you dentures too small. I'm really excited about getting mine. Hopefully within the next month.

@simone10 They said there was nothing they could do as they were following the Medicaid guidelines. So, I keep them in the cup and only wear them for pictures.

I drink a mug of creamy tea in the morning. It happened sometimes that instead of sugar, I have added salt on my tea. Then, I´m awake, mentally.

@thelme55 I would have done the same thing. I can see still being half asleep and putting salt in it instead of sugar. I'm surprised I haven't done it yet.

I’ve done that with the coffee many times. My mouth is tiny too they have to use kid size teeth molds for me.

I'm not sure what size they used on me. They did have to go back twice for a smaller size.

How can you eat without them? I'm afraid of the first time I see myself without them. I will probably cry. Because of that, I will probably wear mine all the time.

@simone10 Your gums do toughen up. Plus I was missing teeth before anyways. So those areas were already getting tougher

Good Morning! I have done silly things like that in the past when I've just woken up. I can't tell you how many times I've put things in the fridge that don't belong in there. Once I put milk in the cupboard and the cereal in the fridge! I am so glad I caught my mistake in time. Eek! I never did like anyone messing with my mouth. I would have had problems trying not to gag as well. *fingers crossed* that you will get them within the month.

That's too funny about the milk and cereal . I'm glad you caught it in time. I guess I get kind of claustrophobic because I can't stand to have the dentist all in my mouth and it doesn't help that my mouth is so small.

Haha, well I think I've not put the coffee in before. I've done pretty much everything like that I could. You're brave going ahead with the denture thing. I'm going to need them at some point. I've got so much health stuff to catch up with when pandemic danger passes. I know safety measures are being taken, but I'm high risk and probably overly cautious. I'm just not going anywhere. I know the denture thing is painful, but everyone I know who got them was very glad after it was all done.

I remember one morning I put on a pot of coffee, then poured myself a bowl of cereal. I then poured the milk and a cup of coffee. Only problem was, I poured the coffee in the cereal bowl and poured the milk in my coffee mug. I sure was in a confused state of mind that morning! lol

I would say you were in a confused state of mind . I've never done that before, but probably only because I drink my coffee first and eat breakfast later.

@simone10 Yep! I'd say you were tired. My dad has done that a few times. And I know I've nearly done the putting orange juice in my cereal bowl before when tired. Wishing you all the very best with your teeth.
