So far so good

My hair is still sitting in henna. I mowed a big section of the yard that I had not done lately. There are two loads of wash on the line, and one in the washer. That feels like an accomplishment. I have been all over the internet, and that feels pretty good as well. It is great to visit with friends while I am here.

My hair came out a very bright red, which I expected because it has had no color on it for at least four years. I was mixing indigo in my henna when I quit dying it, and so it was more brown. I just got up from a nap and I think I will make some coffee.

@GardenGerty I'm glad you expected the color. Enjoy your coffee. I'm sure the nap was needed.

@just4him It mellows out when I wash it. I wait three days the first time.

After a solid week of rain, I was finally able to get the grass cut in the yard yesterday morning while the sun was shining. Glad I took the initiative early, because by noon it was storming again. Nothing beats seeing people face-to-face, but in this current situation we're in, visiting with friends through the internet is the next best alternative.

I see very few friends right now so I am thankful for here and other places. I mowed about 1/6 of my porperty. Rains came overnight, so as soon as we have some dry time I will be at it again.

@GardenGerty We had a bad storm that came through last night, there was so much thunder and lightning that it woke me up. We usually don't get storms overnight.

How long does the henna have to stay in your hair?

My hair is hard to cover, so I usually leave it five hours for the first time. When I cover my roots in a month or two it will be more like three hours.

@JudyEv This one blogger says she does it at bed time, then wraps her hair in a dark towel and puts a dark towel on her pillow and sleeps. She says it relaxes her. I like to do it in the heat of the day because the heat makes it set better.

@GardenGerty So you wouldn't want to do it just before you go to bed!

You got lots of things done,so you should let your hair down. Here girls use the henna to dye their nails.

I have heard of that. Right now my hands show the use, because I did not want to wear gloves. Some places do henna tattoos on their hands.

On my hair right now it is very red, but yes, where it was on my hands it is more of a rusty brown color.
