My dad finally had a doctors appointment

He was due for his annual exam, they asked if we could do a video call, I said no how can you examine him that way. It has been over a year since he has been seen. We get there and they say we have a video appointment, not a visit, I told them that was not correct, so they asked the doctor, and he said an actual appointment. Now we go in and he is concerned, because my dad has a rattle sound from his chest, and sent him for a chest xray. Also his ankles are very swollen, he thinks heart disease. Now if he had been seen long ago, instead of just filling his medication and not seeing him, they may have found this out sooner. The walk to the xray and the lab was so far for my dad to walk , he could barely do it, so i grabbed a wheel chair and pushed him, to the appointments, now just waiting on results.

That is such a shame that he has had to wait so long for a 'proper' appointment. I do hope he is going to be okay.

They should have seen him long before a year. I pray that he gets good results.

@CookieMonster46 Yes it is way too long. Especially for an older person. I hope he got good results from the tests.

This is horrible, I understand that they need to be careful because of the virus, but some patients need personal attention.

@CookieMonster46 This should be the case, people with special needs must be checked in person by a doctor.

I agree, I think people with serious problems, like him, need to be checked on at a regular basis.

I will pray for your dad. Hope that everything will goes well. Don't let your dad walk. Wheel chair is the best option. Patients are usually worried about surgeries and doctors. Give him words on encouragement

How old is your dad? Some doctors are not just doing their job. are right. If they could have just seen his situation, he would not land in such situation.

My dad is going to be 82 tomorrow, since his kidneys are bad, and cancer and other issues, he should have been seen long ago.. My doctor sees me every 6 months, or if I have issues, sooner, she will never just continue renewing my medications, with out actually seeing me.

That's really bad. They should have allowed visits for those with serious issues
