It's A Dismal Looking Day Ahead

Happy Friday Everyone! not a sunny day here today. We're expecting some bad weather from tropical storm heading this way. I'm hoping we don't get a deluge of rain but the grass certainly can use a steady rain. Our poor grass is more brown than green.
I almost said happy Saturday because for some reason I thought it was already Saturday. I'm really losing my mind.
Today is my sons birthday as well as my granddaughters. I texted my son earlier to wish him a Happy Birthday and he said he's working a full day. He also added that being an adult isn't much fun 
My granddaughter is also working later this afternoon. She got her job at Dollar Tree a few weeks ago and loves it. Personally I don't know how she manages to work there as the store is always beyond hot. During the summer months I used to go there as infrequently as possible due to the lack of a/c. She doesn't seem to mind and it doesn't even bother her to wear a mask all day long. Guess being 19 yrs old makes things I complain about tolerable.
My daughter is working from home today which is good since we're expecting that storm.
For me, my day will be pretty routine.
At least I know it's Friday and not Saturday.
What's going on with you today? anything fun planned for the weekend??

Good Morning!
It might hit our coast a bit, but this far inland, we shouldn't get much, if anything from the storm. I would love some rain though.
Happy Bday to Son & Granddaughter. Yes, as we age it's like our complaint switch just keeps getting higher.
All the yarn is supposed to come today so I plan to have my fingers in the yarn, and I also bought hooks so I am going to try to master a Granny Square.

Granny square is one of my favorites and I've made many afghans over the years. I'm sure you'll be able to use the hooks now that you've become so accustomed to your fingers.

I'll have to check this storm that is coming in and see if we will get hit later.
We do have a chance of rain today, but so far there was only a few sprinkles this morning and the sun is shining.Now I am between doing laundry (I don't have a dryer at the moment, so I hang my clothes on a clothesline outside) or waiting until tomorrow.
We don't have anything special planed this weekend, so the same thing we do every weekend.

@Marilynda1225 If the storm keeps moving west, we might get the remnants of it.
Yes, hanging clothes outside does make them smell good, but it's horrible for towels and jeans because it makes them stiff. Sp I would rather have a dryer, because I can also dry clothes when it is raining outside.

I don't have the ability to hang my clothes outside so I have to use my dryer but I miss the days when I hung the clothes outside. They always smelled so good.

I remember working in a very hot environment when I was in high school, it bothered me, but I never admitted it because I liked the money that I earned better.
Its super hot and humid here today.

@Marilynda1225 We had a very violent storm between about 5 and 6:45 pm. its just quit, and it looks like there are more coming over night. I hope that the humidity breaks.

Our Dollar Tree has a/c but it's never feels like it on. I'm sure my granddaughter is enjoying her first job and paycheck too and won't complain about the heat or having to wear a mask.
Our rain came but nothing compared to the storm they were predicting. I'm sure there's flooding around the area but I'm not going anywhere to worry about it.

We've had rain all day sometimes heavy but mostly just steady rain. We need it badly too so I'm really not complaining.

Wow a store having no air conditioning and having to wear a mask all day would be to much for me. I was in a huge department store yesterday and the bottom level was so hot we were sweating and couldn’t wait to get out of the store.

Well so far we are having a day of rest we are both exhausted. I told my daughter to stay away as we have been busy with them all week and they literally have worn us out. The weather has been pretty grim here all week although we have intermittent sun today! Have a lovely weekend!

this is the first day of rain here in a long time so I'm not complaining. It's been heavy at times but so far no flooding.
Glad you declared today a day of rest. Kids and grandkids can certainly wear us out!! Now you can recharge your battery for the next visit.

Happy happy birthday to your grandkids. Obviously heat doesn't bother the young and healthy. I'm not their age, but it doesn't bother me.
I knew it was Friday only because it's date night tonight. Otherwise I would have thought it was Friday, too.. Crazy how one day runs into the other.
I'm expecting a delivery from Instacart and one from my son before the rains arrive. He's going out anyway and offered to pick up anything we may need.
I walked very little, changed the sheets, did a load of laundry, cleaned, did some online ordering, and texted with friends, And to think it's still morning! Looking forward to sanitizing the deliveries NOT and date night YES!

I placed an order with Peapod this afternoon and they have tomorrow open. Guess the two week wait is over and people are back in the stores (not me).

With Fay on the way, I decided to make cheese stuffed meatloaf, seasoned French mashed potatoes, and roasted asparagus.
Glad that Peapod is better again. I should check it out again. I spent so long sanitizing the items from Instacart today.. I really deserved a martini!

I've had to tell myself what day it was every day this week. I was a day off until today.

You and your granddaughter probably just have different body temps. So the hot to you, doesn't bother you. Like i can be in cold or hot places and be fine but the boyfriend cant be in the hot without constantly sweating and complaining (

As usual, today all day maybe I just stayed in front of the computer and surfed the internet.
