To Live Long, Eat...

...'pancit.' It is a type of noodle that Filipinos usually make during special occasions. Some of us believe that we can live a long life. It is because of the long string of noodles, people can live longer. It is silly to believe in this, right? Have you tried to make one and eat it?

It's a superstitious belief that we inherited from the Chinese, that's why it's called " long life noodles ", yes don't cut it and serve it on birthdays

@louievill No, we do not have this superstition, but we believe that longer spaghetti are easier to roll on the fork.

Italians never cut spaghetti and in Italy we have very long spaghetti, double lengths of those you find abroad.

It is a noodle with lots of ingredients. We can consider it as a dry noodle.

We do have Chinese restaurants here but I do not go there because they use MSG and I am allergic to it @Shavkat

No, I am Italian and I eat spaghetti and Italian noodles pretty often and Italians have a very long life expectancy.

@Shavkat We are northern, we do not eat pasta every day, but Italians eat a lot of vegetables and fruits and we almost only use extra virgin olive oil to season.
