TYPO Explanations

Hi! I try not to make typing errors. I read and reread and reread and still the errors get through. There are 3 reasons for this. Number 1: I never learned how to type. Number 2: Lately, some of the keys on my keyboard have been sticking. Even though I hit the key while I'm typing, the letter does not show up. Number 3: When I proofread, my eyes don't always pick up the typos because ... my eyesight is not as good as it used to be. I apologize for my typos. I think that you readers understand me though, even with the misspellings. Thank you for your empathy, sympathy, and patience. P.S. If you like you can point out my mistakes. I get kind of annoyed with myself when my typing errors still get through after I have read my post at least 3 times before hitting the publish button. I am so glad MyLot has an Edit function. There are other sites that won't allow me to edit and IT DRIVES ME INSANE!!

This happens to all of us I think. And it can be very hard to pick up your own mistakes. I have a couple of keys that don't seem to connect properly so they don't type at all unless I'm really on the ball.

I just watched a Perry Mason episode this morning and the guy got caught because he was a good typist. Who would have thought your good typing skills would give you away?

@cmoneyspinner Vince ended up the only boy in his class and learnt typing with the girls. He said it was the most useful skill he acquired at school.

You could download Grammarly for free and it would help you to see when you make typos.

I have used Grammarly from time to time. For some reason Grammarly and I don't get along when it comes to comma placement.

I think this is fine. May be you can allow yourself 1 or 2 typos per say 200 words? And not worry too much. The other option would be to do things very slowly and carefully, yet we do not always have that much of time.

We all make mistakes. I don't like the posts that have so many typos that you can't understand what the person is trying to say. Obviously they don't proofread!

I will type something and read it and see nothing wrong with it and then read it again and realize I wrote the wrong word. It sounds the same but spells differently. Or I accidentally omit a word but when I proof what I wrote I read the line as if that word is there when it is not. Sometimes I will edit a post or even a response/comment many times. I hate seeing a typo and not being able to fix it, even if the typo is no big deal. One of the downsides to Virily.
