Helped a Friend Divert a Crisis

A friend called earlier today with a problem. She has a sibling, a drug addict, who has decided to move in with her. She showed up last night with her suitcase.
This is a delicate situation at best. I know what I would do. But I am hesitant at giving advice to others. I told her, as a friend, she will have to go with her gut instinct on this one.
Also, I shared with her what I would do if I were in that situation. And reminded her I would be here to listen if she needed support. That is all I can do. She understood and has called a couple of times today. Mostly venting.
After a very long sleepless night, she has decided to tell her she must leave.
I will be her friend and she said that is what she needs right now.

That's a sad situation. I hope her sibling has somewhere she can go or to a facility. Love the picture.

Someone with an addiction is so tough. =( Especially being someone she loves of course. Praying for her and her sibling who needs to be set free.

I think she has made the right decision. I just hope the sibling leaves with no problems. But being a friend is all you can do.

It's good you are there to give a little help to a friend.
