Running out of patience, money, both or something else?

I do not continuously check news these days. Yet I have a look at least once a day. Yesterday's Covid tally in India was a big 42k ! Well such a high figure could be attributed to high population, increased testing, cramped and congested urban areas and slums. Yet that does not seem all. I saw a video on WhatsApp which showed footage of a highway restaurant full with people and many without a mask. So many are not following the discipline. May be many are short on money, patience or may be became too overconfident. Yet all this means that the situation in India would take much longer to control. The positive is that the recovery rate is high, yet that does not guarantee that one might not get infected. What do you say?

@DianneN Yes very scary here now. @JudyEv Indeed, without discipline, the virus would spread!

@DianneN it is tough in hot and humid weather. Yet we can wear and in between take off if we move to an isolated place for a few minutes and then wear it again. Yet not wearing it at all is not an excuse.

I feel very sad when people don't understand the situation we are in and behave as if nothing has happened. Does not bother to wear mask or maintain social distancing norms. You are right we will take a long time to see the trend slowing down.

@msdivkar Yes and the longer it takes, it is not good for our mental and emotional health or for the economy.

The recovery rate is high in all countries, but unfortunately many get the virus back after a few weeks.

@LadyDuck You mean the relapse cases? But those people would have acquired some immunity against that?

I agree with all your points. If people don't obey the guidelines, then the virus will continue to spread.

@sarik1 Well some folks are getting frustrated. And some are perhaps plainly indisciplined.

I think its just like global warming. Too far gone to ever be controled and too many will not listen or believe

Our immune systems have to build up the strength to naturally fight it off so to me in a way with people out like that it is helping with the virus I personally wear a mask everywhere I go and sanitize my hands whenever I touch something , after shopping , going to the atm, putting gas etc.

@Dyvette16 But for the family of those who die due to this, it is a miserable time. And risks for different folks remain.
