Our trivia quiz will remain in the glitz and glitter of Hollywood with a few more song entries to solve. Remember, that this west coast "State" is part of the title. And what better group to introduce these tunes than "The Boys From Hawthorne," who gave us the hit "California Girls." Enjoy this ode to the Golden State, the Beach boys "California Saga on my way to sunny Californ-I-A." Hope you enjoyed that California imagery and now onto our trivia quiz... Here's are today's song trivia clues. Whodunnit? 1. This band who took the name of the National bird of the United States scored a big hit with this tune in 1976. With this song and album the group reached it's greatest popularity. There have been some unusual interpretations about the song's meaning, but according to the band members, it's about excesses of American culture and certain girls they knew. The song's lyrics provides the feel of that Hollywood paradise. Some examples of those sights and sounds are: " On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair, Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air, Up ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering light." Kind of the vibe one would experience driving into LA with a welcoming hotel begging you to stay. Yes, you get the feeling this destination is a lovely place to stay any time of the year. Can you name this song and the band who recorded it? 2. This song was written for a 1921 Broadway musical starring this comic actor and singer. This person acted in the first talking picture called "The Jazz Story" in 1927. He was also famous for wearing "blackface" during this time period when performing songs. This performer popularized many songs with his outlandish, melodramatic, and sentimental approach to singing. This tune was often called the unofficial song for this state. The song is about getting back to that west coast state again "when the wintry winds start blowing and the snow is starting to fall." As the tunes lyrics say...."That's why I can hardly wait, Open up that Golden Gate," because I'm coming back (to that state) again! Do you know this star of many musicals and his famous song about this Golden state? 3. Bonus- The Beach Boys had a comeback #1 hit in 1988 with a song featured in a Tom Cruise bartender movie. The tune 's title was about an exotic tropical place which fit in perfectly with the island theme of Jamaica, the location in the film. Do you know the name of this Beach Boys song? Ok, let's "whip ourselves into a state" and get some correct answers. Time to guess those songs and artists. Remember a name of a U.S. state is part of the title. If your stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or as the group The Four Tops might say, "Reach Out and I'll Be There." Thanks for not making the 1st one too hard. Hotel California by The Eagles. Could be Al Jolson but not familiar with the song. Off the Florida Keys, there's a place called Kokomo.

You really gave away the title and band of that 1st query. That song was so overplayed back in the late 70s that I literally got tired of hearing it. As for the other two, I iz stumped.

I kinda remember the other two but they weren't being played all that much when I started getting into music which mostly consisted of the Beatles, Rolling Stones and other British groups @dgobucks226

Yes, Welcome to the Hotel California....Plenty of room there No guesses on #2 & #3? That's a "sad state of affairs." The Beach Boys recorded this song in #3 for the movie "Cocktail." Not a memorable flick for Cruise or co-star Elizabeth Shue (who played Daniel-san's girlfriend in Karate Kid) Trivia Answer Checklist 1. Hotel California- The Eagles 2. California Here I Come- Al Jolson 3. Bonus- Kokomo

Yes, even if your not musically informed there is a good chance one knows our National Bird is an Eagle(s) Al Jolson dubbed "The World's Greatest Entertainer" at the peak of his career introduced White Americans to traditionally African-American music with his performance of their songs.

@misunderstood_zombie Yes, Brian Wilson had no involvement with the song. He had gone onto doing solo albums, but it did revive interest in the Beach Boys
