Cut my middle finger with a peeler

I wanted to saute some yellow squash yesterday. Instead of cutting it in cubes or circles I decided to do long spaghetti strands. I have a manual peeler that does that.
At first everything was going fine but then the peeler got stuck and wouldn't move further down. Instead of stopping and trying to remove the peeler from the squash I proceeded to make it go down and continue peeling.
Wrong move! I ended up cutting myself and on the left edge of my left middle finger of all places. There were two cuts and the bleeding wouldn't stop.
First I held the cut finger under running water and then hubby put a bandage (with neosporin) on it. He continued doing the peeling for me. Thankfully, he did not cut himself.
This has never happened to me before. Cutting myself didn't hurt but touching the cut stings a little. So far, I have avoided wetting my left hand but when I take a shower that won't be possible. Hope it won't sting.
Now hubby was supposed to wash the dishes yesterday. He did not and said he will do it today. He better come through. I'd wash them myself but don't want to because of my cut middle finger.

I was peeling potatoes today at lunch and all I kept thinking was, please don't cut yourself! haha
Sorry to hear you cut your finger. Never a fun thing when that happens.

@lovebuglena That's usually what happens when we start thinking about it. I got lucky today, I didn't cut myself when I started thinking about it.

Come to think of it, when I was forcing the peeler to continue peeling I thought it will not end well. And it didn't.

I am glad your husband stepped in to finish the job for you and so sorry about what happened to your finger. How do you feel now?

Oh no! Hope it wasn't deep. My peeler was kind of a julienne peeler so I had three cuts. Thankfully they were not deep.

Usually I don't feel anything when I cut myself but then if water gets on it it stings a bit.

@DianneN It is not bothering me. I did not take the bandage off though. I probably should to see what's going on and let the finger breathe.

@just4him I tried to make a hole in a small plastic cup with scissors but it wouldn't stay in place. I could have cut myself but thankfully that didn't happen. The day before I cut myself with a peeler I tried to get corn out of a pot of boiling water with tongs and the corn slipped from the tongs and splattered hot water on my hand. Thankfully, no damage. Not my week I guess.

Thanks! I hate it when I cut myself, especially when my actions are asking for it. When the peeler got stuck and wouldn't go I should not tried to keep on peeling. I should have stopped and carefully tried to remove the peeler. I've used this kind of a peeler many times and this never happened to me from what I remember.

He washed the dishes yesterday morning. Would be nice if he did them today too as I don't wanna get soap and water on my finger. Though I had to shower and wash my hair so technically finger got wet and maybe soapy, though bandage didn't make it fully exposed.

It is not. And especially when it stings every time the water gets on the cut.

It seems better. I showered and didn't feel it sting. Maybe only once.

I could have cut myself anywhere. Of all places it had to be the middle finger.

I did not take the bandage off yet so not sure how my finger looks where I cut it. There were two cuts one next to each other.
