Country Roads and Singing Along to the Radio

Happy Saturday Everyone and Happy August.
It's a perfect summer day here today. The sun is shining and it's not too hot and or humid.
My daughter and I went to Sams Club to pick up a grocery order (curbside) so instead of taking the highway we extended the trip and took the back roads. It was nice to be out and about for a change.
We passed people mowing their lawns and a few yard sales. It was almost like life was normal and the virus didn't exist.
However, when we got to Sams the parking lot was full and people were shopping. Everyone was wearing masks and going about their business and it's become the new normal. We did see two little tykes who were dressed the same so I can only assume they are twins. In addition to their clothes being the same they also had on the same masks. It was a bit weird seeing such small children trotting alongside their parents with masks on but they were happy as larks and I guess it's now normal to them too.
Anyway, that's my exciting start to this beautiful Saturday.
After lunch I'm going to take my book and sit outside and read for awhile. I'm sure this break in temperature won't last long but I'll enjoy while I can.

Thankfully our back roads are paved and we didn't find ourselves in a pickle like you did

It is gorgeous out here today we are sitting out having our yard sale. I’ve seen some cute little masks on the kids coming here today. I’m trying to read but my son keeps talking 
. Better to listen I can read the rest of my life after he grows up and moves out

You are so right. Listening to your son are the memories of tomorrow. Time flies and before we know it our little ones fly the nest. Hope you did good with your yard sale.

Glad it is such a nice day where you live! I always love taking the back roads whenever I go anywhere. Less traffic, better scenery, and all-around more enjoyable.

It's definitely more enjoyable and relaxing. Usually we take the highway when time is limited. Today was the perfect day to just unwind

@Marilynda1225 I usually will factor extra time into my trips just so I can take the backroads, but yeah, sometimes you are pressed for time and have to take the direct highways.

It's a beautiful day here, too. We played golf at our CC with our son. We slotted our time so no one else would be on the course and we all wore our masks.
Outside on our new old bench myLotting right now. Time for lunch on the deck and then diving into Valerie's book.

I don't get out much now a days either only to the doctor's and to pick up my medications here n there. Sometimes I'll go for a drive but that's about it..Usually I just stay home & I do instacart delivery for my groceries and alot of amazon ordering.

I'm glad the kids were wearing them, if it was needed from others being around and they were under 6.. But if not, I wish parents weren't having them do it. Ugh.

I'm glad things are good for you and you had a good trip to Sam's Club. Yes, we're in the new normal. I'm seeing more people wearing masks than before even children.
