Some DOCTORS are Aiming For Profits

When I was still working in the hospital and practicing my profession, I had seen some doctors keep on asking their patients to undergo procedures, which some of them are not necessary. I felt bad for some patients who are not inclined with medical procedures. I am not generalizing this concern. It happens in the real world. Have you encountered this kind of doctor? There are many doctors like that here in the US. They have hefty student loans to repay so they try to get their patients to undergo as many expensive procedures as possible.

I heard about these concerns in the USA. Some of my batchmates had some stories. I find it not good to take advantage of their patients.

I agree with you @Shavkat I hate those doctors that lie to their patients so they can get rich.

They also have to protect themselves. Many of these tests are egregious. Many of them are money grabs. But at the same time, we live in a very litigious society, and so, if the doctor gets something wrong because he didn't check every possible box... He will be sued.

This has become a common scenario now in most of the places. Whether a test is required or not, they want to get it done as per their protocol to be on the safer side. This trend is picking up in my country too and I can clearly see the change compared to how it was dealt with some years ago.

@Miracle_Maya The reality is that doctors depend on these diagnostic tools in medicine. They can only say the final words when seeing all the results.

Most doctors have flowery words to persuade their patients, which is not good at all. I hope that they still remember what they oath before practicing their profession.

@Shavkat Yes but these flowery words have already created a deep impact on the minds of the people to the extent that if a doctor doesn't do these numerous tests and say that there's nothing to worry about it, they start to doubt the doctor's competency!! This is sad but true.

I am sorry that you had experienced this. I think we can still have some information on the Internet. We can search for a particular disease before consulting a doctor in actuality. What do you think?

@birjudanak I think I can handle them. I am also in the medical field. I can question them and ask for their rationale.

I am sure you are not infected with this virus. I hope things will be fine after the procedure. Be calm and not be stressed out as much as possible.

Unfortunately there are doctors that make patients do procedures and unnecessary exams just for the sake of the money. They are doctors only to earn money not to help people.

I am sure that these doctors are good actors in deceiving their naive patients. In time, they will realize this cheating and repent for their sins. If they have a good conscience deep inside.

@Shavkat if they had a good conscience they would do what is better for their patients but they only care about the money.

Sure, many doctors do this. It's a money grab. But it's also to protect themselves from lawsuits. If they don't order all sorts of test and get something wrong, they could be sued.

I am sorry about this. Some doctors are really not into giving real concern to their patients. When my late father got sick before, the doctor asked for a CT scan. I told the doctor to use an MRI instead. For the reason that a CT scan cannot detect everything and it is best the other option. I am more on the practical side since it is a one-time procedure. I am also grateful that my other siblings did not object at that time. How's your mom? If I may ask.
